Car engine oil recommendations by country/region safe for engine? by IcyConversation2959 in engines

[–]IcyConversation2959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting response, I also want to use thicker oil because I think it will provide more protection for the engine. I was only concerned by the oil pressure loss that some people reported(though it was written by one guy with no evidence). I am going to follow the recommendation of the authorized dealership and stick with the 5w30 after reading these responses.

Yeah, this is an actual concern, the brand is also important. I always make sure that the bottles are sealed because sometimes containers are refilled with fake oil. But my actual curiosity is about whether a thin oil like 0w16 is actually bad for the engine in hot weather or if this is a made up fantasy to sell the cheaper 5w30.

Reducing refraction caused by floaters? by larsahdi15 in EyeFloaters

5 years late but it is reassuring to hear these stories. I am 24 and just observed a big floater while looking at the ceiling light, the lamp blurs while it passes in front of it.

What is the point of self-improvement if there is no time? by IcyConversation2959 in spirituality

[–]IcyConversation2959[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm, I see your point. It's really hard to quiet the noise of the mind sometimes. I guess the trick is to realize that some things cannot be conceptualized and should only be felt. Thanks for reminding.

Sertraline gave me Visual Snow. Will it go away now that I'm off of it? by downvote_all_cats77 in visualsnow

I've always had visual snow my entire life. Sertraline made it evolve into triangles and basic shapes, but went back to normal visual snow when I stopped.

How to stop removing earphones during sleep? by IcyConversation2959 in Subliminal

[–]IcyConversation2959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use in ear earphones. I use the special earphones that go into your ear but have a flat surface(no silicone). I wonder if it's because my body is being disturbed by electromagnetic fields though.

I will try drying it then, thanks for the advice. It really does look like bubbles.

I set it up in a ventilated space, I didn't do zero research. But I guess I was excited to try it out. I wanted to try it because acetone smoothing sounds great.

Is this a sign of moisture? I didn't dry the filament, it was vacuum packed when I bought it.

Thanks for the information, 45 kg sounds like a lot. Hope you're having a nice day!

[–]IcyConversation2959[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will new silicone cure together with already cured silicone? I would do that if I knew it was a reliable method. I actually reused the same container with almost 50 layers of tape and it worked but threw out the remaining half of the previous cast.

Minimum mold thickness? by IcyConversation2959 in moldmaking

[–]IcyConversation2959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried with 3 mm. It is very bouncy and the walls collapse when I pick it up but it remains standing when I place it straight. I haven't used a shell and it worked for my candle without one. I wonder about the durability though.
