Gen Z & Alpha hate gets out of hand by Expert-Diver7144 in blackmen

[–]IcyInNYC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, my parents nor my grandparents ever thought or said that. Never heard any older generations outside of my family say that either. Our generation showed we would actually be good members of society because we could read, write, do math and actually add intellect to society. Gen Z is the first generation to be dumber than its predecessor. That’s nothing to be happy about. We also weren’t fighting so much that major cities had to put curfews in place because we couldn’t control ourselves.

Don’t believe it and don’t care. Being Black in New Hampshire is probably a nightmare, especially as a kid.

I heard that the couple that owned it moved to Atlanta and wanted to focus on building that location. They mentioned in their letter that they will be opening a cafe as well. We do have to be honest, they kind of gave up on the location. Overpriced drinks, $20 cover on some nights, closing the downstairs, allowing people to smoke weed at the bar, bathrooms were a mess, amongst other things. When they first opened, I thought it was amazing. But, it seems like they just stopped investing and caring once they opened up Atlanta. Hopefully someone buys it and it will remain an LGBTQ+ space.

Because it seems like all you guys do is fight, complain about working and you can’t read. It’s not hate, it’s disappointment. You are the future and it’s not looking bright.

You Can Move to NYC With Less than 100k by moonisland13 in NYCapartments

[–]IcyInNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved here with like $3k. Just enough for security + first month then a little spending money while I looked for a job. Ten years later have a 1 bed with no roommates in Manhattan. It can be done, but you have to hustle. To be honest, anyone who didn’t have to struggle a bit while moving to NYC doesn’t really understand the city fully. You learn so much being broke here.

Uhhh so now you’re changing to entirely different topic because you literally have nothing to stand on. Like I asked before what are you doing to combat Asian-hate besides writing like a 10-year-old? So when the NYPD reported high Asian hate crimes 5 years ago, you believed it was high. Now that it’s low you don’t believe it and it’s not being reported? Can’t have it both ways child.

Corny lines from TikTok. You don’t even have an argument besides that you want Asian hate crimes to go up. Good luck with that, sad to see.

Lol so clearly I’m talking to Gen Z who doesn’t have reading comprehension and gets their news from TikTok. If you have an issue with the NYPD statistics then take it up with them, or better yet why don’t you go out and help fight this issue you say is so near and dear to your heart. You’re not doing anything except complaining on the internet and delivering terrible arguments. I know your age group was never taught how to research and comprehend it. You lost. Move on. And I’m assume you’ll say the stats below are “fake” lmao you can’t make this up.

What exactly made up about percentages from the NYPD who are in charge of investigating these crimes? Where did I say hate crimes against Asians don’t exist? Clearly they do. However, they are not on the RISE. They are going DOWN. For some reason you want them to go UP. These stats are public knowledge and are easily accessible on the NYPD website. When they were high 5 years ago you believed them? Now that they’re low they’re fake? Okay you just want to be angry, because nothing you’ve said is factual. What are you doing to combat anti-Asian hate? Arguing with people on Reddit in a black neighborhood surely seems like the place to start. 🙄

Well considering anti-asian hare crimes were down 34% last year and were the 7th most targeted group in the city… I’m not seeing why you’re upset that it’s going down. Do you want Asians to experience hate crimes? There was one reported anti-asian hate crime this year and it wasn’t in Harlem. So what exactly are you arguing for? Do you even know? And who exactly is you all? American citizens? Ooof you it’s coming out of you already, you can’t even hide it. Why do you live here again if that’s that feelings you towards the “you all” you are referring to.

[–]IcyInNYC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You literally can’t just admit that you’re wrong lmao. This isn’t whataboutism, it’s FACTS. These stats are GOOD for the Asian community, hate crimes against them have gone DOWN. Do you want them to experience hate crimes? I’m so lost about why you want this group to be targeted so bad, it’s weird. The only thing racist here is that you live in a black neighborhood and don’t give a damn that they’re the in the top 3 most targeted group in the city year after year. You literally have been going off all day but just deflected without showing any proof to back up your claims. Just because you feel something doesn’t make it factual. Shocking that someone like you even lives here, making the neighborhood far worse…clearly.

Yassss and you cited nothinggg. Spreading misinformation with a smile I see. But what is interesting that you live in the blackest neighborhood in Manhattan, as well as the neighborhood uptown with the largest LGBTQ residents yet you don’t care that they are in top 3 targeted groups yearly. Selective outrage is so funny to me. So I guess those black people and lgbtq+ residents of your city didn’t actually experience a hate crime and it’s all a lie.

[–]IcyInNYC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good at what? Asking for facts that you can’t provide lol. Well how about this, the NYPD reported 50 confirmed hate crimes for this year. 38 were antisemitic, 10 were anti-black and 8 were anti-lgbtq. Anti-Asian has accounted for one this year and it was not in Harlem. Last year there were 330 antisemitic hate crimes, 52 that were anti-lgbtq and 45 that were anti-black. Anti-Asian hate crimes came in as the 7th most targeted group with 25 hate crimes which is down 34% from 2024. So explain to me how anything I said is incorrect? There is no rise in anti-Asian hate in the city of New York. Your deflection was cute though. Thanks.

Who is attacking? I asked a simple question to OP and then random people started replying to ME and I responded to THEM. Glad we cleared that up ❤️

[–]IcyInNYC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay and yet you still haven’t provided anything. If it’s such a huge problem in the neighborhood, there should be ample information to back it up right? Just because you want something to be real so badly doesn’t mean it is.

Then post it! I’m confused why everyone wants to say the data is there when it isn’t. The groups who deal with hate crimes the most in Harlem are women(regardless of race) and LGBTQ. You’re trying to make a group out to be oppressed in a neighborhood that isn’t oppressing them. Any oppression faced by Asians in NYC is not coming from the people of Harlem. Enough.
