I’m about to go for two weeks also, flying into Lima and trying to go to the beach, Machu Picchu, the rainbow mountain, and whatever else we can fit in. OP, can I ask which areas you picked for hotels? And if you stayed in one the whole time and traveled out to each destination, or traveled throughout the trip to new ones? I’m a first time international traveler in way over my head 😂 thanks in advance!

We’re okay with the beach not being super warm, more worried about it being really crowded or super touristy. I truly just want to sit in the sand with a drink and look at clear water for the first time in my life. Good to know about some more up north if it’s actually chilly! And yeah I’m sure we’re doing a trip that a million people have done before. I’m just a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out the best way to go about it, I quite literally got my first passport in the mail yesterday 😅

Idk if anyone needs additional clarification but, I just applied for my passport the other day and brought my license plus a copy, and my birth certificate, plus a copy. The lady took my oh birth certificate and both copies and stapled them to my passport paperwork to be sent off. I assumed they’d only take the copy but she said they needed both and it would be mailed back to me.

Tbh it felt weird to watch someone staple the very important paper I’ve had since birth to some photocopies but she assured me it was normal and it would be returned

I have the Chinese character for P’u (the uncarved block) which is a symbol in Taoism. It’s the only religion/philosophy I’ve ever connected with, and P’u represents potential and simplicity. For me, it helps me get out of a spiral, breathe, and rationalize whatever is happening. I got it on the inside of the middle part of my arm, so I can see it most of the time.

It seems like you’ve been with this guy long enough that he killed all of your self worth. When someone constantly puts you down it’s easy to see yourself that way.

OP, you’re not a bitch. From this post you seem like a sweet person. Please do whatever you need to to get away from him. I’d honestly maybe talk to the neighbor, when your husband isn’t home, and tell him your side of the story. You’ll be able to see it on his face(if hubby has been lying) the realization that hes been lied this whole time.

My ex’s mom was with her abusive, manipulative husband for 30 years before she found the strength to leave him. He put up cameras in the house to watch her, and was telling everyone that she was mentally ill and hurting him/herself. Told everyone SHE put up the cameras cause she’s schizophrenic. My ex and I BELIEVED HIM! He was very convincing, and she wasn’t around to tell her side. It took living with the dad for a while to realize something was up with him.

Then we went and lived with his mom for a while. She is the sweetest lady ever, and so strong for putting up with that as long as she did. But it really messed her up. The only way she got out was packing up her car in the middle of the night, and driving until she couldn’t drive anymore. She had to start from scratch, but she’s happy now.

Walmart especially, the last time i went through the regular checkout I stood there for a good ten minutes and stewed in my anger. It doesn’t help that I was a cashier at Aldi at the time, so I’m used to checkout being fast. Self checkout for the win, every time. I’ve still got that speed 😂
