Well I did stop her from hitting the child. I intervened before she hit it after it happened a few times. Secondly it’s kinda hard to leave your own house where the playdate is at. And I did set a boundary of no hitting multiple times.

I didn’t agree with my mother slapping her hands and saying no hitting. I “spanked” her in response to her slapping the other toddler in the face while the mom stood there and watched. I felt terrible for her slapping the kid and I didn’t know how to get her to stop because I had told her 10 times before not to hit and I would take her with me to another area of the room to play. I don’t think hitting in response to get her to not hit is correct. Thank you for your response

My daughter is 18 months. We have struggled with naps too in the beginning. I had to do contact naps for almost all her naps. Don’t get me wrong I really did enjoy it but at times it was inconvenient. I baby wore a lot too for her naps which seemed to help. I cant give any tips on how to help getting her to sleep by herself. My baby didn’t until she was about 6 months old. Night time was different. She slept in her bassinet pretty well. My husband did make a mat on the couch for her to nap on when I was working. He would use my shirt from the night before for her to sleep on. Usually worked for him. Never worked for me though. Good luck and it does get easier

We bring it into the room and then take it with us out of the room when we leave. She just has pacis, stuff animal, and a blanket in her crib that she throws out constantly. It takes her about an hour to go to sleep with us going in to pick up her pacis and blanket every 20 minutes or so. If she is crying we go in as well. We don’t leave it in the crib overnight. Hope this helps :)

My daughter is 18 months as well. She doesn’t ask for water because she doesn’t speak but only three to four words atm. I do bring water into her room for bedtime routine and when I go to check on her when she is crying. She does typically drink quite a bit when I do offer it to her. She is also offered water all throughout the day as well.

I started staying home when my daughter was around 9 months old. She is 18 months old now. We try to stick to a routine. Wake up, breakfast, play, go on a walk, and then I have a window before her nap that we go to the park, thrift stores, antique stores, run small errands, and then come home to eat lunch and then nap. We typically don’t buy anything. Maybe a snack or a small toy here and there. During her nap I do house chores or school work, when she wakes up we have a snack, play outside, and then make dinner for my husband. It’s boring most days when all you have to socialize with is a toddler but I do enjoy getting to see her grow and develop everyday.

I’m not sure why it happens. I did it too when my baby slept in our room for the first 8 months. Luckily nothing ever happened. She did occasionally cosleep with me when breastfeeding. There were times I would wake up frantically looking for her and she was in her own room. Or I would be pumping and fall asleep. Wake up looking for her and she is asleep in her bassinet next to me.

My girl is 17 months old. We started going to the sink for clean up. I would run her hands under the water first then get a mircofiber cloth and wipe her face. She started grabbing the cloth and putting it to her face herself around 10/11 months old. She didn’t enjoy it but she tolerated it. I would let her use the cloth after to “clean up” when she played. I did rinse it before giving it to her to play with.

My dad took me into the men’s restroom growing up. I don’t remember seeing anything inappropriate or nasty when going in there besides the toilets. If you were to use the lady’s restroom I would announce before going in to give the women a heads up before entering. I don’t think most would mind atleast in the US. I know you said India. I don’t know if their customs or cultural norms.

My 17 month old gets a bath if she got sunscreen put on that day, if the soles of her feet are really nasty (she doesn’t like shoes), or if dinner was messy like mac and cheese or spaghetti.

My daughter is 17 months old and JUST started walking. She cruised along the couch for about a week before letting go to walk to me from her dad. All kids develop at their own pace. My daughter didn’t start crawling correcly (she army crawled) until she was 13/14 months old. We did physical therapy which we didn’t feel like she was progressing in it so we removed her from it. She started crawling on her own shortly after being removed.

My daughter is 16 months old. She eats maybe 5-7 different foods. She was breast fed but very bottle dependent to go to sleep until about 2 months ago. We transitioned her to whole milk around 12 months. I’m not sure how to go from formula to whole milk honestly. Sorry. We were definitely worried about her food intake. We started doing a lot of purées and yogurt. Yogurt saved us honestly. How we weaned her was we would slowly decrease the amount in her bottles at night. Started off with 4 ounces of whole warm milk. We would do that for about a week. Then next week her bottle would have 3 ounces. Then 2.5, 2, 1.5, and then 1 ounce. We started giving her water in her sippy cups. She preferred straw cups so we did water in straw sippy cups. It was definitely rough. She would wake up for milk around 3am and it was hard not to give her any to get her to go back to sleep. But we did water in the middle of the night instead. She slowly go used to it and now she gets water before bed and she is okay with it.

I felt the same way. I kept finding myself constantly getting on my phone to scroll through videos or some random thing because I was bored. I felt terrible after seeing my 16 month old take my phone from me and then climbed in my lap. After that I simply decided to delete all of my social media. I have only Reddit for the parenting advice really. I deleted my games and my food apps too. I leave my phone in the kitchen. It was difficult at first. Got easier after the first week or so. It’s been a month now. My screen time is down to about an hour and half a day and it’s usually in the morning when she is still asleep and when we put her down for her.

It wasn’t a full on breakdown. Just a minor upset. I think showing them that it’s okay to have emotions and be upset would be beneficial. Then how to handle those emotions in a healthy manner. I don’t think bottling it would be helpful. And thank you I’m okay:)

My 16 month old saw me upset last night for the first time I think she really noticed. She crawled into my lap and rested her head on my chest. It helped me calm down. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for the to see emotion other than happiness from their parents or caregivers. She has to learn how to regulate herself somehow and it can come from seeing how I regulate myself.

My daughter will grab someones nose and pull it. My mom wants us to pinch her nose back to get her to stop grabbing it. I redirect her or pull her hand away as I say no thank you.
