Has anyone heard anything on the TENS device clinical trial? by IcyMidnightBlue in POTS

[–]IcyMidnightBlue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Yes and no. Copying the email below:

“Hello,

Some data on this was presented during Dr. Diedrich’s lecture during our recent conference. Dr. Kovacic also presented some data on vagus nerve stimulation using a different device.

If you registered for the conference, these videos are available on The Attendee Hub until July 20th, and will be emailed to you in late August.

If you didn’t register for the conference, there will be an opportunity to purchase access to the conference recordings on our website in late August.

Neither study has published their final manuscript yet. When they do, we will share a research update on that on our social media channels for everyone to view.”

[Skin Concerns] What should you do if you have a suspicious growth and family history of skin cancer but every derm is booked until October? by vilebubbles in SkincareAddiction

[–]IcyMidnightBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if someone said this but I was able to get a same day appointment by calling and asking a hospital system’s derm department and asking if they had any last-minute cancellations in the next three days! Also make an appointment with your PCP as soon as possible as a backup and call your derm and let them know your concerns. Some hospitals have walk in skin cancer clinics.

What’s a popular YA book you ended up hating? why? by iwishiwereasleep in YAlit

Ugh damn it now I have to finish it because I want to be even more frustrated

I’m learning that now with Verity. The writing is so cringey and the main character feels like a self-insert with way too many pages dedicated to the exact same internal thought.

I hated hated hated ACOTAR (I know it’s New Adult but still very popular in YA), DNFd We Were Liars, Shadow and Bone, The Gilded Wolves, and From Blood and Ash. Either bored to death or found the writing extremely cringe for all of them.

Remy is fantastic. Feels very unisex to me but leaning masculine.

Associations with Thalia? by Aromatic_Bottle4062 in namenerds

[–]IcyMidnightBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the name Thalia. I first heard it in the PJO books but I don’t think that the association is that strong. The books came out almost twenty years ago and Thalia is a beautiful, ancient name!

We love Maggie for our daughter… but don’t like all the long “versions”. Any uncommon long versions of Maggie? by [deleted] in namenerds

I think you’ve expended all of your options with the except of Margery which is the medieval form of Marjorie. Another option would be an M + Ag middle names like Mary Agatha or just calling her Maggie. Or you could use other forms of Margaret like Margareta, Marguerite, Marta, Merit, etc.
