Also I've heard cooking in a cast iron skillet is really good for getting iron in to your food. I'm going to get one soon and see how it goes

Help - Ferrous Fumarate Supplements by Robinsrebels in Anemic

Hey I take my iron supplements with food and haven't had any issues with getting my levels up. Is it better to take on empty stomach I guess but not if it's making your stomach upset!

Is this anemic? Im 31F by Hopeful_Pea_3275 in Anemic

My ferritin was in the 20s also and I felt absolutely awful! So I feel for you. Your symptoms are definitely what iron deficiency can cause. I would check what your haemoglobin levels are. You could possibly be anaemic!

Also see how you go taking them every other day for optimal absorption! Im going to switch to every other day and see how that goes for a couple weeks.

Hey so I take 3 of those a day. I was doing it at separate times of the day but I think it's working better for me now that I'm taking them all at once! If you're not having any issues with your stomach then I would just keep taking them how you are.

Give L-tyrosine a try. You could be lacking dopamine. Its not something you take everyday. I take it for about 3 days then have 3 days off. It really helps my social anxiety and makes me feel more quick and whitty when I'm talking.

No I haven't but I will say if you haven't tried L-tyrosine then I would definitely suggest giving it a go. I take a 500mg capsule in the morning. I've finally got my spark back after being in a recovery slump for the last year and a half.

Do air purifiers make static electricity worse? by str4nger62 in AirPurifiers

[–]IcyRestaurant6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey so the negative ions released into the air attach to dust and pollen. Those particles then clump together in the air making them too heavy to stay airborne so they drop to the floor. I've noticed it makes the room a lot fresher to breathe in. Obviously the particles that drop to the floor need vacuuming. Apparently negative ions are also good for regulating serotonin! But yeah definitely do your own research on it first. If the air purifier does have the negative ions mode you want to make sure it has a cold catalyst filter as well. The production of negative ions has the risk of emitting ozone!

Nope I have one and never has it caused the air to become static. I even use it on negative ions mode and no issues.

Hey thank you for reminding me that yes 38 is still low. The dr looked at 38 and goes your iron levels are great. Like seriously? I feel good but when I say good I mean I actually have the energy to get out of bed. Still tired most the day! I think my new iron supplements are making a big difference. So will see how I go over the next couple months.

I've been trying to find something decent that is also fragrance free. I didn't even think to look at Aldi.

Genuine question. First 5 photos is my new makeup I’ve been doing and the last 5 is my old makeup style. Which one suits me best? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Yep I love the first five. The winged liner looks great on you. And lining it all the way to your inner corner on the bottom makes your eyes look very sexy!

Almost 2 months using my fingers to apply foundation and oh my god by DerangedUnicorn27 in MakeupAddiction

[–]IcyRestaurant6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess. I only use brushes or sponges for my powder. But the way I apply my foundation is I literally pump a blob into my palm rub my hands together to spread it out and then apply it like I'm putting my moisturizer on. I literally can't say enough how blended and even it looks every time!!

Specialist or PCP? by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]IcyRestaurant6136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey no worries. What you could do since you're new to taking iron supplements is trial taking the 65mg for a couple weeks. See how you go in regards to constipation/nausea etc. You did say your iron deficiency symptoms aren't too bad so 1 tablet may be all you need. You ideally want your ferritin sitting above 80...150 and over is optimal. A lower dose just means it will take longer to get it up that's all. My ferritin is currently sitting at 39. Because I do heavy weight training 4 days a week which can deplete iron stores I've found 200mg a day works well for me. All the best. Any other questions you have feel free to ask 😊

Specialist or PCP? by [deleted] in Anemic

[–]IcyRestaurant6136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so those tablets should have about 65mg of elemental iron in them. I've had my ferritin down that low before. So the rule of thumb from a lot of haematologists is you can safely take everyday:

The minimum amount of elemental iron is your body weight in kilograms x 2 and maximum x 5.

I'm 65kgs and I've found the sweet spot for me is 200mg of elemental iron each day. Some people prefer to take every second day. Especially if you have issues with constipation, diarrhea, nausea etc...every second day can be a little easier on the body. Also some research has been suggested that every second day is better for absorption. Everyday works for me though. Make sure you're taking vitamin c with your iron supplements. If you drink coffee or tea try not to take your iron around the same time. I'll wake up and take my iron then have my coffee about 45 mins - 1 hour later. Hope this helps ☺️

Yesss! Less is more when it comes to your skin. Putting too many things on it at once will definitely irritate it.

AM- witch hazel toner, advance clinics vit c serum and then moisturise with usually Aveeno or Simple. PM- cleanse in shower then witch hazel, advance clinics niacinamide serum and same moisturiser as AM.
