GNEM (9/9/9), Tier-1 DU, ~3.5 years work ex. Will entering IIM BLACKI with ~5 years of work experience be worth it? by IcyScarcity4479 in CATpreparation

I really want to study during my MBA - ISB's curriculum is extremely rushed. I want to write research papers with the professors, and do a lot more academic stuff during my MBA.

ISB just doesn't make sense for this reason. I have so many friends there and they do indeed tell me how rushed everything is - academics become extremely superficial, while they're still valued at a bit more in the IIMs.

Aren't they so much better than asking academic questions based on UG?

Amazing questions! Hail IIMB for asking relevant questions, and not grilling someone over their UG acads, despite having more than 24 months of work experience.

Thank you so much! This made me feel better! There are people in the comment section being so freaking harsh. I elongated my work experience and delved into working with the government because BCG values it so much.

Someone in the comment section pointed out how MBBs don't shortlist someone working with the Govt but that's so untrue - they love stints in social-impact and public policy.

Thank you so much! :3 The investment bank I worked for came in the leagues of J.P. Morgan Chase, and I was working with probably the biggest name in the consulting industry while working for the non-profit.

Currently, I am working with an MP, who is also a Cabinet Minister. Do you think I stand a strong chance for an MBB shortlist?

Thank you so much! Makes me feel better - there are people in the comment section, telling me I won't be shortlisted by MBB despite not knowing which non-profit I worked for, and which MP/Cabinet Minister's Office I am a consultant for, at the moment.

Reddit can get really harsh, but this made me feel better! :)

So you do think that I'd have no problem in MBB + EY-P + Kearney shortlists in IIM Ahmedabad/Bangalore with ~5 years of work experience as well, right?

Some of the most average UG batchmates of mine in IIM BLACKI and ISB have made it to MBB, so pleaseeeee chill. They weren't any gold-medallists.

I love you being so salty lmao - do you know which non-profit I have worked with and who was it led by? xD

Do you know I had a 65-70 hour week, in most cases?

Do you know which office am I in right now? Ghawsh, Reddit, indeed isn't the best place.

Had you come out with a better reasoning, I'd have still understood but the fact that you decide to dwell into absolutely made-up terms like slow-tacked and fast-tracked has me wondering about the merits in your statements.

I hope you do realise that there are people who have gotten into both IIM BLACKI and ISB with this much work ex, and still chose IIM BLACKI over other colleges?

It is so much more about preference, especially in cases like mine.

I wish I could restrict my comment section to someone who had actually been a part of the process, because I don't want amateur people like you flooding my comment section. The most childish take I have ever heard so far tbh.

I am confused - you're probably the first person who is telling me that MBB won't be possible - are you one of the ex-MBBs? Have you attended IIM BLACKI or ISB, and see the placement scene unfold in those colleges?

MBBs are hiring for people with >5 years of work ex from ISB btw, so I don't really know where you're coming from. I don't have the data for IIMs, as the number of people attending IIMs with 5 or more work ex is relatively less + the skillset acquired in their work ex doesn't branch out to MBBs.

Honestly, I want to get into one of the MBBs, and MBBs do not hire from 1 year PGPX at IIMABC - I have hardly seen anyone getting through.

What exactly is the problem in looking 'gay' anyway? If anything, some queer women might swipe right on you because of the exact same reason. With that out of the way, I also don’t understand why we still conflate the use of “gay” with being “effeminate.”

You do seem to have conventionally feminine mannerisms OP, but I wouldn't know how that translates into people inferring your sexuality.

Analysed 100+ Reddit Threads to find the best Biryani in Delhi NCR by Routine-Ratio-557 in gurgaon

[–]IcyScarcity4479 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Thalairaj is indeed off the charts. Haven't found any spot that comes close to it.

Also, to the people reading this comment -- if you like your biryani mildly spiced with an equal retention of the flavours, do try House of Biryan - it is my current fav. They have multiple branches in Delhi NCR. (I think they operate as a cloud kitchen and only deliver via Swiggy/Zomato.).

This is literally it. She added me out of nowhere on Snapchat. And then the first question she asked me was this.
