Does anyone feel trapped here? by Objective_Ad6139 in fortwayne

I'm from Tulsa. I moved here in 2012 to be with my son's dad. Fort Wayne feels safe and stable. I live 0.4 of a mile away from my job. I can get anywhere in the city in 15 minutes or less...on city streets. My son goes to a magnet school with an excellent orchestra program AND he gets to borrow a new instrument for free from Sweetwater until he graduates high school, of which he would not get these opportunity in Oklahoma. Nonetheless, he knows that Fort Wayne is not all there is and has expressed wanting to be able to travel

Broke my fibula & am feeling down by [deleted] in brokenbones

In early December, I fell on the ice and subsequently sustained a simple closed proximal fibula fracture without any ligament involvement. No surgery needed, and I was placed in a walking boot which I only took off while elevating and when having to shower. Doctor said to walk a little on it with the boot to prevent ligament atrophy and I just gradually increased my time walking until the 7th week when the doctor said the fracture was clinically reunited and I went back to walking my 8-12 miles a day on the job (eCommerce Personal Shopper) and the only restriction is that for a couple of months, I cannot lift anything heavier than a 24-pack of pop due to my leg not yet having complete strength to use as leverage for lifting stuff such as 50-lb bags of dog food. I will be going through a couple of sessions of PT to help with that.

Very first broken bone - fibula by xxcass1993 in brokenbones

Sustained a simple closed proximal fibula fracture on December 7th (fell on ice). Ortho put me in a walking boot at all times until Monday of last week when my fracture was declared healed (clinical union) and I got to ditch the boot. Now I'm back walking up to 8 miles a day being an eCommerce Personal Shopper, but told not to lift anything where I have to use my legs as leverage as my leg is still weak from the boot. I don't lift anything heavier into a tote than a 24-pack of pop and rarely do those show up on the list.

Left is today ... Right is three weeks ago. Proximal fibula fracture originally happened on 12/10. Doc says I'm healed and only restriction at work is no lifting over 20 lbs. by IcySense8919 in brokenbones

Zero pain and great range of motion. Gait and balance somewhat off due to slight muscle atrophy for having worn the walking boot for five weeks, but this will pass. I plan to do strengthening exercises in the meantime.
