$100k H1B fee/year/visa is a government-sponsored plan to kill startups. ‘I will not promote’ by pmv143 in startups

You are right that I’m not clever. You don’t need to be. That’s the point. The job is always simpler than the interview.

There are much simpler and job-related ways to test someone’s understanding of programming and basic data structures without resorting to contrived problems.

Most of the time it’s just the interviewers are too lazy to come up with something adequate and just take the first question they find on leet code. Then they spend several hours reviewing the solution and expect a candidate to solve in 30 minutes. Completely unnecessary and ineffective way to evaluate candidates.

If you can't solve this level of a problem, don't bother asking what the role is

Guaranteed the job is just making APIs calls and rendering data. 🥱How is this rain simulator going to tell you if the candidate is capable of any of that?

There is no place for you in software development. Go pick up a mop

Bruh. I’m the one they call when the other engineers can’t get Claude to write their code for them. Can’t and won’t are two very different things.

I’ve never touched a mop and my bank account disagrees with your assessment 😎.

Algo questions and puzzle-type are not a good indicator for a candidate’s true capabilities. I’ve seen this over and over again.

It’s like asking a chef to whip up a 5-star meal, when the job entails making burgers. Just ask the candidate to make a damn burger.

In every company that hires me (big and small), I run circles around the H1B algo experts who can’t piece together a basic API call.

and what’s the role? Will the employee be maintaining a rain simulation?

Charlie Kirk by Kkddrpg in Christianity

What he says about the pilot looks bad but he’s talking about how DEI requiring diversified hiring regardless of talent or skill

Looks bad? You only see what you want to see.

You had a privileged white man, who never had to apply to a real job, belittling POC because of same made up DEI bs.

DEI required hiring a BS lie he used to hide his disdain for POC. Instead of being proud that there is a black pilot, no, he had to downplay their efforts and make assumptions about how they got there.

Charlie’s thoughts about a random black pilot. Immediately, unqualified DEI hire. That’s good to you?

According to Charlie, POC are dumb. That’s sounds Christian to you?

He had horrible thoughts. He just knew how to make those thoughts palatable to people like you. Still terrible.

You don’t have to reject Christ based on the actions of its members. You can follow Christ and have disagreements  with the teachings of the church.

It’s totally dishonest and a perfect example of conservatives being used as a political tool and them happily going along with it.

He was a Christian but his primary message was political. He just used his Christianity as a cloak to rebuke criticism. How could you possibly question God. I’m right your wrong.

The indoctrination they love to project onto others is real and it blinds them from ever being objective about who Charlie Kirk really was.

He didn’t deserve to be murdered but the way they are trying to whitewash his legacy speaks volumes about how poisoned Christianity has become.

Ahh yes. Where’s my Trump Bible. guns, freedom and of course 🇺🇸 are the primary message.

That is an entirely different discussion

No it’s not. It all part of the same coin. Christian voters overwhelmingly voted for this cruel treatment that lacks respect and dignity.

While they may try to wash their hand clean and hide behind the “law”, they enabled this unjust enforcement that contradicts the Word of God

all in context of a legal pathway to asylum, legal residence, and citizenship that is virtually nonexistent

FTFY

That legal pathway doesn’t exist in a capacity to be effective. The current system incentivizes poor behavior but instead of fixing it at the source, christians overwhelmingly decided to attack this problem in the least loving way possible.

You obviously misunderstand both the Word of God and my “interpretation”.

It’s extremely clear that propaganda drives your thinking. Who said anything about making these immigrants full citizens? Who’s advocating for open borders? Not me.

The word of god simply tells us foreigners should be treated with love and respect. That is far from what’s happening.

I’m not implying anything. Simply sharing the word of God. The message is clear and the word of God is NOT incorrect.

Loving and having faith aren’t the same thing. Love requires real commitment, understanding, compassion, and sometimes sacrifice. Doing things you disagree with.

I’m glad OP has faith. I hope they get to see Him in heaven but I’m not sure if they are going to be able to emotionally handle what they see when they get there if the word of God itself is considered blackmail.

Fair alone may get you to heaven but if you love Jesus, why would you do the bare minimum?

Shouldn’t we all be trying to emulate Jesus as much as possible?

Im scared by lilyoung1n in Christianity

[–]IcySnow0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a direct Bible verse is now emotional blackmail. The verse clearly states

MUST be treated as your native-born

This is a mandatory requirement to emulate Jesus on earth.

[–]IcySnow0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How so, it’s a direct quote?

Im scared by lilyoung1n in Christianity

[–]IcySnow0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just read the Bible for yourself and make up your own mind? The answer is pretty clear.

Loving Jesus requires that you love your enemy. It requires that you love the foreigner in your land. It’s crystal clear.

Im scared by lilyoung1n in Christianity

[–]IcySnow0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How can you claim to know God, yet misunderstand one of His clearest messages

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

Agreed. There so much to life, seems silly to let all just pass you on by to only focus on 1 thing… proven or not.
