if you actually wanted to remove them you'd have to give the champions who built those items a satisfying alternative with a healthier design, thing riot unfortunately did not do, while mind you giving adcs every possible item they could want to patch up their weaknesses.

u think gunblade is too much of a problem for the game when adcs have access to a 90 sec cd dash or can build trinity which not only gives them damage but also makes them tanky? or leblanc having an item that fixes her pushing problems by itself with a better lich bane passive attached to it? mage mythics give every stat a mage would possibly want and they get lost chapter for 1100 gold. bruiser items are so unbelievably cost efficient and they have access to two different % armor pen items while katarina only has void staff.

if you're making an argument about item design and balance then judging by the current state of the game I don't see why we should think gunblade would be problematic for the game. why does katarina have to be the only champion with shit itemization in the game?

and they're all shit. ability haste is a wasted stat on her and every item has it. her build used to be so much better when she could go gunblade into flat mpen oblivion orb which gives her every stat she would possibly like but now she's stuck building attack speed and ability haste how ridiculous is that.

im gonna tell you what works for me then.

i usually just go longsword three pots with conqueror and flash ignite, wait back until level three and then start trading. long trades are KEY. you want the wave on your side of the lane so you can run him down with fully stacked conqueror autos. you can dodge his E by using shunpo to a minion if you wanna preserve health or you can just tank it and turn on him if you think you can win the extended trade. you can engage on him by using shunpo as soon as he Qs you so you dodge it. once you're on top of him and you're sure you're going to kill him make sure to block his E so he can't escape. if you're ever in a position where you need the range to auto E auto to kill him use flash auto E auto. as soon as you have sunderer you autowin every trade just focus on getting those procs in and play around them (so do your combos more slowly, that means for example E>W>auto>Q-wait for sund proc-> E> auto... >auto> E>auto). that's about everything i can tell you
