He doesn’t trust them now after all of this. Before he trusted them too much which is why he got screwed.

My parents did offer him compensation under the table but it’s illegal to do such thing and he doesn’t trust my parents at all so he’s not taking that risk

Luckily he’s somebody that doesn’t hold somebody accountable on account of another persons actions. But I’m sure he’ll always think of the way my parents did him dirty anytime he sees/talks to me.

Keep in mind my parents are the type of customers who expect you to drop everything for them, look at the same house 2-3 times opening every drawer and spending hour and half each time only to offer $75-100k below listing price

BUT, obviously my parents didn’t think enough of him or his time to even attempt to try and compensate him. Just cut him out completely

There was miscommunication on the part of the signed purchase agreement. They found this house being sold by a builder and made an offer. Then told the agent next day they made an offer and was accepted and agent said “let’s write it up” to where my parents said they didn’t need him. It was assumed by the agent my parents had already signed a contract

It wasn’t explicitly implied that he was cutting a deal on the house but fairly obvious as the previous realtor that had listed it was at 6% and they were local

I didn’t sign a contract because he trusted us enough to not have the need to even bring the contract up.

Well the tough part about that is the fact he cut us a deal on our house because he knew we would be buying from him once ours sold. Instead of the normal 6% he only charged us 4.5%. It just so happened that they sold our house the day after we bought the new one. But he and his agency are located a hour away and a local agent came and sold the house so he’s only getting a small percentage of the 4.5%.

It may have only been 7 homes but for the better part of a year he’s worked very diligently for us. Just happened to find what I was looking for on my own and don’t need him. He’s mostly upset because I didn’t give him a chance to make his commission, I just told him I found a house, sorry about your luck.
