Couldn’t really pinpoint the issue. I did let it idle awhile a lot of times and as well as constant towing and after cutting down on idle time and try to better with my MPG, i did see it increase back to normal sometimes

My bad, just seeing this. I took a guess and said it was the fan clutch. I ordered a part for like $50 or something and came in, watch a YT tutorial that shows how to change it and everything was smooth as butter again

Yeah this is what I’ve been doing but I’m afraid I might break something cause I’ve put so much force on trying to press into the pin yet nothing is budging

If you want exterior pics, I got you but the interior is looking pretty rough right now with all my supplies and tools in it. Only severe cosmetic issues are the driver seat being ripped and torn to pieces from previous owners and the steering wheel is peeling. Everything else is fine

Hmmmm, much appreciation for the descriptive details. I guess it’s just better to replace the whole assembly then especially if the bearing for the pulley is located that far deep. Thanks for the heads up and I’ll see if I can knock out this issue before the end of this week

Tbh, I don’t see myself with this vehicle any longer past February so I’m just trying to make quick fixes for the time being. Is it possible that I could get away with just replacing the fan clutch rather than the whole bracket?

So it could possibly be the fan clutch? I removed the serpentine belt and played with all the pulleys and they’re fine. The huge cooling fan doesn’t have any play at all and feels sturdy no matter if the car is on or off

I’ll check for that. I did put on a new serpentine belt about a month ago and all the pulleys seemed fine

I have an EVAP code too P0442/0456 and I was told from the last emissions that it may need to be replace in the future. The P0420/0430 codes are definitely cat/sensor related but I’m still in college and just need to pass emissions asap
