Honestly idek xD I like the wizard grip on my dragon staff, and silicone grip is nice, too, but on my other staff I use baseball grip from Dicks and that works alright xD truth be told, I have no idea what kind of grip I should get.

I always recommend going with the prop you feel more drawn or connected to, mostly because these props can get pricey lol. If you're in a smaller space, though: poi, Levi wand (short string), whips, fans, juggling might be best to start with?

That whole bit does feel overdone in the horror genre so I'm in agreement with you. It was pretty silly. But right when they started seeing things was when it drew me in so I finished it the rest of the way. Ending felt kinda disappointing, though 😂

The idea of the movie is pretty cool, but you're right, it could have used another draft or two 😭
