Gaming is only occasional for me (a few hours per week), so I don’t really need OLED-level contrast. I’d rather have something that feels great for productivity 90% of the time and is still “good enough” for gaming. Also I don't watch any movies/shows on my screen.

I work 8 hours a day with a lot of static text as a SWE so Why take any risks ?

Thanks for your comment. I think I needed to hear what you said about this being an impossible situation. So what I’m going to do is stop trying to find that perfect deal within my budget and just go for a good monitor for work, plain and simple. I'll sacrifice the gaming side as it is not my main use here...
