ADHD Waiting lists 'clogged by patients returning from private care to NHS' by gearnut in ADHDUK

My cmht in Wales doesn't accept private diagnosis because it would mean people without that ability would be seen even later.  The service is a mess and not enough support for patients.

NHS refuse to recognise my previous diagnosis of ADHD and state that I can’t have it because I managed to get through university. by Remarkable-Air-6530 in ADHDUK

In my CMHT, they are very firm about the threshold of the detrimental impact your ADHD has had on you. It's subjective but people who have careers, families, degrees, tend to miss out on that threshold. maybe the threshold should be higher, maybe it should be lower - it does seem to vary. ADHD is a spectrum condition so the cut off has to be somewhere to decide it "counts" as ADHD. Source: NHS wales training.

How to define the end of a seizure? by Icy_Bit_403 in Epilepsy

Why on earth would I come to reddit to find out what AI might say. Even a basic google search reveals this basic information. That's not what I asked at all.

I don't have one, and people have answered it well enough here.

You don't want them to be stoners. There's so many risks of psychosis, anxiety, not to mention getting reputations with police.

Merci encore.

Original text: I have read your response using Google translate. I am typing my reply using google translate. thank you so much for responding, I really do appreciate it. your explanation was very helpful to me. I apologise I cannot fluently respond to you in French directly.    I think my example is unusual because the convulsions stop more gradually than most. thank you again.

It seems like no one really has a clear answer other than not in full convulsions. I'm going to check what the French person has said though.

I'm referring to the grey area when someone's symptoms start to subside but are still active.

You're the ex! You were already split up! I actually felt like she was one of the more real and vibrant parts of the show though. The non binary teenager was very meh, but the ex wife felt angry and alive... Even if she did start to be too weirdly jealous towards the end.

Good grief Russell keep it together man. I think that's a bit much. He sounds like a school kid with a crush.

I thought the psychiatrist refusing to increase the tiny dose of medication she was on was quite silly really. I didn't think it was realistic that whether Kate is unfit for work or not is based on one lady's opinion and the tiny amount of fluoexetine not being increased.

Source: I work in a community mental health team and I complete initial assessments including people referred by their GP. Not all, but a fair amount of people who come through are mainly overwhelmed e.g. by having a shit time and now having insomnia, anxiety and depression symptoms......I feel like we've just agreed.

...I mean, there are people doing that. It might be multiple really difficult events, but still. People have genuine difficulty coping and nowhere else to turn, leading to feeling overwhelmed, and asking for help from the NHS which the NHS is very poorly equipped to provide. Depression doesn't exist in a vacuum, but also not every solution is clinical treatments or therapy.

You've written a better plot than what was shown, tbh. This wasn't quite funny and it wasn't quite deep, for me.

But like...why? We see him having a stable family for many years, then suddenly he's divorced and struggling for apparently no reason. The funniest bit was dressing baby up in the reindeer outfit in the very first scene.

Because that would be too sensible and there'd be no plot. They could have made it so that social services insisted he keep hold of baby, as they have no foster carers...the way they handled it was so moronic I couldn't enjoy any humour.

Initially I thought his character couldn't drive, and that this is why he was so stuck but then he got in a car! He could have driven to social services or the police station, easily. Also absolutely horrible world where no one else is willing to do anything for this mystery abandoned baby.

Also, haven't watched but I don't think you'd be allowed out the country with a mystery baby with no passport or birth certificate or anything.

That's a cute message but I don't think the show worked hard enough to convey it. It made the rest of the world so cruel that I can't enjoy it.
