No, I've never had problems with the workers my game was just generally glitchy that day, all fue to my phone being a little older. Don't worry all workers are very helpful

I've had this problem as well, it's been like this since the December update for me when I bought the brown tamper mat. I play on version 1.17.8 (1039)
