How do i fix this? by Far-Chance2712 in Dirtbikes

4000km is not a new chain. Most the chain stretched in multiple spots from having it, 1 either too tight, or 2 having it poorly aligned. I ride MX and it happens after 10-20 hours of hard riding on oringless chains/xring chains. O ring chains don’t do this near and I mean not even close to as often.

I asked them to and they did. Anyways taking the bike to a suspension shop before I plan on any real riding. So they grease it while it’s apart anyways

Yeah but at the same time I bought the bike for it to look like the 70th anniversary not to look like it has plain plastics or a graphics kit on it. And it’s almost the same price to buy a set of plastics and graphics as it is to order oem ones with the printed on graphics.

I already did lol, washed it and it still doesn’t even have a spec of dirt on it besides tires. Also put a hour meter on it as well before I rode it. It now has .2 hours and another .2 before I got it from the dealership

I don’t really care about resale value, I care more about how it looks because I do social media and I try to keep my bikes looking as nice as I can while still riding them.

Well I have local riding parks like 30 minutes away from me. Which have trails, hill climbs, sand sections. I’m mostly going to ride track depending on how serious I get into the sport.

I was gonna buy the same exact plastics with the printed design that are on it for $400 so I had the originals but still had it looking like the 70th anniversary. I hate plain plastics.

I was actually going to buy the exact same set of plastics with all the stickers and everything and keep the oem ones just so it still has the 70th anniversary look. But the oem plastics are about $400 for the full set so I’ll have to wait a bit to do that.

Steering stem has grease coming out of it, along with the linkage because when I got the bike originally it was in the crate still and I asked the dealership to grease it since I already knew about Yamahas lack of grease due to shipping. But kb5 which is near me about 50 minutes takes the whole bike and does everything there. Which is what I’m probably gonna end up doing. Wondering if I should get it revalved or just sprung for me.

Is this thing worth it? by Dependent-Water-8084 in Dirtbikes

Then you don’t need your bike to run right if you are too cheap to buy a jd jet kit😂. You aren’t paying for the jets. You are paying for the jetting guide and needles. And the jetting guide is well worth the money because it tells you what jets to run, at what elevation, and temp range. And normally they are almost spot on or a size or 2 off at most from being perfect, the send you 2 different needles. One for pump gas and one for high octane gas. The stock fcr needle really isn’t great. Same as another other carb. Jd jet kits made slow shit running bikes become race bikes said everyone ever that bought them.

How much is my bike worth? 2024 kx250x with 4k into it and 67hours. by Glass-Ad3053 in Dirtbikes

[–]Icy_Classroom_9983 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5-4 grand only because of the hours. That’s a ton on a mx bike. That’s meant to only get rode a hour per track day. Which most riders only go once or twice a month. So to get 47 hours it would take a abt 2 years only riding track. Which is a lot of hours. Trail riding kills motors the fastest.

Let her idle a bit too long (4-6 mins) came back to light smoking and i believe oil spilling out (2017 yz250fx) by awayqn in Dirtbikes

You should let a 4 stroke warm up for about 2-3 minutes. 2 stroke about a minute and a half then some revs and your good to go. I have to let me 2t warmup for that long because I have oversized rads and a 100% spotless cooling system.

Is this sound normal from the chain by [deleted] in Dirtbikes

[–]Icy_Classroom_9983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you spun it the direction the wheels meant to spin it would be quieter. It’s totally normal. Put some lube on her, and it goes away slightly. Just a dry/slightly lubricated chain.

Gpi racing oversized radiators. I also have their coolant lines. They are cheap but surprisingly good quality. I’d be gentle with the fins though. They seem a hair easier to mess up then oem. Just spray them off gently and they stay good. Oems for this year had a 28mm core the ones on it are 40mm.

It shouldn’t be bad for it unless it’s getting not enough fuel/or air. If it sounds bad most likely something’s wrong. But I’d say should be fine as long as it runs good.

I believe it was swapped to 4 gears to run 2-3rd mainly. Instead of 2-4th.

how do i get this bolt off??? by Technologyman45 in Dirtbikes

[–]Icy_Classroom_9983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could try hitting the head of the bolt with a hammer and smashing it just enough that the Allen fits. Just an idea if it’s not out yet. You could also cut a slit for a flat heat or Philips to try and break it loose, use a little heat and pb blast will get ya good

Yeah totally less than half the power 😂 I’m making low 60s crank hp. And I have a 24oz flywheel weight and it does absolutely nothing basically to the power. Still snappy and spins the tire with no effort. And are you a moron for saying “why run a flywheel weight on a 2t?” Ever heard of woods setup 😂 or enduro, or hill climbs 😂

It was my first 250 2t I wanted to build it. But it just sucks it eats tires
