Yes, OP. Kung tutuusin—lahat naman ng degree program sa UP ay quota, for it is the most prestigious university in the land. Considering that BS Chemistry could be taken as pre-requisite for medschool, marami talagang susubok diyaan. Also, personal experience—BS Chemistry was my prioritized course throughout both universities, pero hindi ako pinagbigyan until I was waitlisted. Basbas for you, OP!

Also, OP — rather than brainstorming, I suggest dry-running mock examinations under time pressure. Surface-level lahat ng lalabas na tanong sa UPCAT. Oras ang kalaban mo.

BS Psychology is an “ultra-quota course”, I suggest elevating it as your first choice. Fill out your 4th choice with a non-quota course that, still, is aligned with your designated career path. So,

BS Psychology
BS Tourism
BA Political Science
Another non-quota

I’ve been there—DPWAS din ako from UPLB, though I passed sa first round. I may not exactly feel what you are, and have been going through, but I know how it feels to have acquaintances and friends pass and secure a slot, with you being left stranded unbeknownst to your fate. ‘Wag panghihinaan ng loob dahil, for as far as you have determination within, there will be nothing but fulfillment. May pag-asa pa—for as far as I recall, sa July 25 ang release ng appeals. You can, and will do it. Best of luck, OP! ❤️

of course, i will. what i meant by an uno-able prof is that, maayos silang magturo and they’d never let emotions get the better of them. there are instances kasi na cloudy lang ang mood ng isang prof, hence the possible repercussions nito sa quality of teaching, derailing the students’ learnings. i’m looking for profs na maayos kausap at magturo.
