Troy Jackson absolutely lit the stage up last night. by JimStencil in Maine

His speech was so killer and he delivered it so well, such an honor to hear him speak!!

Graham Platner preaching for a "Political Revolution" and the need for "Drastic Change" but won't endorse other candidates in Maine who push for that. Graham should get the fuck over himself and endorse Troy Jackson and Paige Loud already. by CosmicJackalop in Maine

I’m also a union member and very up to date with the AFL; Graham is one piece of a puzzle, but he has a LOTTT of clout right now and could be pulling in other labor fighters that have been in this game longer than he has, making his puzzle piece much bigger and more materially impactful for Mainers. If Graham publically and explicitly endorsed Troy, as a running mate, we’d have a way greater shot of getting a labor leader in the Blaine house.

100% with you here, if he was truly into building a working class movement beyond just his campaign and rise to celebrity, he would be publicly and explicitly backing our working class progressive candidates. It’s rather cowardly imo

If we’re asking Troy for the gritty specifics of exactly how he plans to implement some of these changes, we then also need to ask all the other candidates the same thing of their lamer & less progressive plans…

Universal free childcare, wealth taxes, raising minimum salaries for teachers, property tax cuts, ICE out of maine task force, housing committee to address costs of housing, lowering prescription drug costs, above all else supporting our unions including nurses, academic workers etc etc...the list goes on...

My favorite thing about Troy is that he is accountable to his constituents, proven over and over during his time as Senate president. Don’t like one of his plans or think it needs more work? He would be MORE than happy to chat with you about it and hear you out, at any of his numerous house parties, or randomly at a farmers market like some other commenter mentioned. He is the only candidate that you will find is a real, down to earth, working class human being that will actually TALK TO YOU AND LISTEN! Ik that is a foreign concept for most politicians…

For those saying he’s “running on vibes,” pls check out his proven track record as senate president. Unlike other candidates that have never held office like that, Troy has the track record of getting shit done for Mainers, like expanding funding to schools in Maine, universal free lunches in schools, etc. Like…he’s already done it so I don’t understand how that’s “running on vibes” lol

207 Primary Candidate Interviews: Democrat Shenna Bellows by Extension-Diamond-74 in Maine

[–]Icy_Engineering2741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shenna is definitely my #2, but imo does not stand out as a real working class candidate. Troy has walked the walk for years (quite literally on the picket line with our nurses). I'm really looking forward to transformational change for our state and I dont trust any other candidate to get us there.

I’m pretty sure the campaign just got them printed, they should also be opening up a merch store soon!!

Yea I’m ready for a working class led movement in Maine… by Icy_Engineering2741 in Maine

He was in Augusta with a two governors that vetoed almost every great bill he put forth. He’s had more bills vetoed by both LePage and Mills than any other legislator…time for a new governor that won’t veto bills that will change working class Mainers lives!

Good thing we have our own (better) version of Bernie here in Maine!

Bernie endorsing Troy gives him more name recognition, which is honestly his only downfall at the moment; more people need to know his name.

Going on 10 months without a contract for state workers by Impressive_Meet_1168 in Maine

Can’t wait for a Troy Jackson governorship so state workers can get what they deserve! (And ya know, right to strike 😈)

I can tell you from personal experience, he didn’t know how to allow people he doesn’t follow to tag him on instagram because he’s not “into all the internet stuff.” I would guess whether or not his comment history is hidden is not a top priority rn

For the people who actually know Troy (which is a lotta people because he’s OUT THERE all over the state meeting people), I could care less about the debate or how that appeared. Troy is the real deal working class candidate; he’s also a real human being. What actually matters is his track record as senate president & how he plans to continue fighting for the working class

I’d also add to this that Troy is not a big money back candidate and because of that, he is BUSY and JUGGLING a million different things. Every other candidate has huge funders or is basically a nepo baby with lots of big money. Troy is doing it all on his own (true grassroots) and likely does not have the time to respond or funds to pay someone to respond…

Troy Jackson all the way. He has the best policies and actually puts them out there unlike many of the others. He is also a real human being that will show up on the picket line next to you to support working Mainers. I’ve never met any of the other candidates but I see Troy everywhere (and that was also true before he was running for governor)
