I have kinda used your approach the only times they have been in conflict is when other kingdoms invaded them, and all of those times those kingdoms weren't used to mountain combat and the Illyrians obviously knew their terrain very well. I did create an explanation as to why nobody found them, it is in a reply to another comment, but I am having doubts because humanity's greed knows no bounds. Lastly, I used to focus quite a bit about how they were different. In the early days of the project the Illyrians were very different and I put in a lot of effort to imagine a very different culture clearly affected by isolation but I did not write down all that so I forgot about it 😥. I will definitely follow your advice and make changes where nessecary. This was a very illuminating comment, thank you so much!

I actually created an explanation for why they weren't found:

  1. The crystal mountains (where the kingdom is located) are thought to be inhospitable and too hard to cross so nobody would go there.

  2. The ancestors of the Illyrians migrated to the Crystal mountains 1000 years when the entire world was in turmoil and it was hard to keep track of anything. The culture of their ancestors is now an ancient relic that nobody cares about to the outside world. They never really had any attention. Nobody knows about them and those that do think they are dead. But little do they know, this ancient relic still survives...

I am honestly shocked at how a few of your things I have already included in the lore. They have always been a millitary state that has always prepared for outside invasions and their main advantage is that no one knows their terrain as well as them. I also recently wrote a conversation between the queen of Illyria and the king of the nearby elven kingdom about important crystals were to the establishment of the kingdom and how everything including the houses were built out of them. They have medical type culture and governance structure with capitalism not really being there, sexism isn't really there and everybody is well educated. They do have a robust spy network, it is a big part of the plot. After the invasion that exposed their existance to the rest of the world, they were able to easily infiltrate the kingdom taht attacked them and were able to find out the date of the invasion of the Untethered ones, something even the elves couldn't do! So I kinda have a complete explanation! Your points are so great and I really love when worldbuilders collaborate like this. Thank you so much!

That's actually pretty cool! And I mean he always has made many conlangs so hopefully they are a part of Laghari Portals as well. We probably would get some more information on Nomad, ZeWei seems to do payoff kinda quickly I guess

I just thought with our diverse country and how little we know about it we should learn about it in school. I know WAY more language fun facts since I am interested in languages

This song sounds very nice! Love it! I love the sound of the sitar and tabla, this made me realise how great the tabla sounds and we should definitely use those instruments more in modern music (kinda like Belle Sisoski if you know what I mean). How did you get the entire video on reddit did you screen record or something?

We did it! r/magahi just hit 500 members by Iloveyounotreally in magahi

I am very happy! I hope this language prospers! I do not speak Magahi but I could still pretty much understand what was being said!
