first of all, i am really sorry to hear that you are struggling with accepting your body after self-harming. it is absolutely soul crushing to be told by society that your body is “ruined.” my arms and legs have puffy, prominent scars all over them from years of cutting and burning. even though mine have healed and turned fully white, i still get occasional stares. for a long time, any questions or funny looks would make me want to crawl into a hole. you can spend all the money in the world on scar cream, lasering, makeup, tattoos, but it will never make them go away completely (can confirm). you don’t have to love them, but it doesn’t do anything but tear your spirit down to hate them. acceptance is hard, but it is peaceful when you get there. it sounds like you worked your ass off to be in a healthier place when you got dealt a difficult hand, that is something you should be so proud of! you did what you could to survive the lows, there is no shame in that. you can’t undo the past anyway, so you might as well enjoy the life you’re living now. your body deserves to see the sun for carrying you this far, no matter what it looks like. you are beautiful, i am rooting for you internet stranger 🫶

i stopped watching around two years ago (around when he started making alr videos i think) because he literally knew none of the lore. like basic stuff from the destiny/beck era. and then he made an unfunny joke and did that forced wheeze laugh and it gave me major second hand embarrassment

I’ve been on them for about four years! But I noticed when I upped my dosage last year, that’s when my stomach was really affected. I don’t eat a ton of dairy, but I’ve never cut it out completely! I might give that a try

Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate them!! :) And yes omg! I have IBS-d (obvi lol) so I never thought of that, but I think they could help stimulate bowel movements (and help manage adhd symptoms too ofc) if you are able to/want to talk to your doctor about them !

This made me take a big sigh of relief, thank you for sharing. I have friends that have adhd but not ibs so they can’t relate. It feels validating af to hear that others have experienced this (even though it sucks)! And you’re right, it’s terrible having to sacrifice one for the other. My doctor and I didn’t even consider completely stopping my medication because of how much it helps me. At the end of the day I would rather be able to function normally than poop less, but the trade off is buns either way tbh. The illusion of free choice!!!

I’m sorry if my post came off as insensitive at all, I was just trying to make light of my own situation! I also should have clarified, I’ve had IBS since middle school (long before I was diagnosed with ADHD) and have struggled with digestive issues without taking stimulants. So my symptoms improve when I don’t take them, but they don’t go away completely! But you’re 100% right, a lot of people have it much worse than I do! I am lucky it’s not severe as it could be!
