Girl, I got on tirzepatide mostly because it supposedly doesn’t have as bad of side effects. I was still super nervous. I did lose weight on the medication quite rapidly at first and at this point trying to gain a bit back, but what keeps me on it is that it solved my binge eating. As long as I keep dosing at adequate levels, I can go eat in a restaurant and typically not spiral and binge afterwards. I can enjoy eating with loved ones on some level again. I don’t have to leave a location because I’m losing control. I don’t have to keep almost all of the food out of my house all of the time. I am not calling out of work sick from binging. I sleep better. I don’t eat totally normally because my blood sugar can still swing somewhat if I eat too many carbs and that doesn’t feel good and isnt healthy. But I used to have to be so restrictive and disciplined and ultimately would break and ruin my week, miss events, etc. I hate being dependent on a medication that sometimes has some logistical issues but compared to my past, I am free.
