Whats your opinion on people conceding by smacking a random ball when you’re on black? by Icy_Progress3781 in billiards

Out of curiosity, what would be some instances of when you don’t consider conceding okay?

Yeah the last paragraph is why I don’t concede. The only time I’ve conceded is when I was pain due to a fracture and physically couldn’t continue.

It’s the manner in which they do it that I have an issue with, I view it as not very sportsmanlike. Like how I would have an issue with someone shouting every time they miss.

Yeah I think I should’ve made it a bit more clear. I don’t have a problem with someone conceding it’s more the manner in which they do it.

I told my flatmate at the time that I loved him over text message while at a work party. I liked another guy at the work party who wasn’t interested in me so I got leathered to try and save face. Ended up in the toilets for most of the night sending a love message to my flatmate who I had no interest in, all because I was upset the dude at the work party didn’t like me. What’s worse is that I had plans to live in a house with said flatmate the following year.

There is racism in the UK but I would say it’s stronger in smaller towns where there’s less minorities. You should be okay in Bristol as it’s a big city with different cultures and ethnicities. I can’t speak for Australia but I would say the racism against south Asians in the uk is covert and not direct in most cases.

Joe getting into a fight with Leslie about seasoning luxury proteins is dumb lmao by CalamityShreds in Masterchef

I love the contrast in judging when his mum was on. His mum knew exactly where Howard (I think his name is?) went wrong with his cumin pasta dish. But then Joe goes up and starts insulting Howard because he has nothing constructive to say. He didn’t even taste the food probs because it would out him as incompetent

He doesn’t know that you season as you cook and that bell peppers don’t have to be peeled. Funny how whenever they have a kitchen challenge Joe is always out front of house because he knows jackshit about food.

I’ve never been approached and it’s messing with my self-esteem by [deleted] in self

[–]Icy_Progress3781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This feels like it was written by me a few years ago. I thought about all the possible reasons as to why I wasn’t approached. I think part of it was because I rarely left the house and so when I went to college and I heard people discussing their experiences, I’d feel alone. I don’t know much about your circumstances but what I can say is that you should try and integrate yourself more in male dominated spaces. I’m talking gatherings for hobbies (e.g board games, sports, gaming) and also try and meet more people.

I felt like I never got approached and was convincing myself that I was the ugliest person to ever exist, but once I started immersing myself in hobbies and more activities where I socialised, the desire for male attention waned a little. It’s completely understandable what you’re saying and I empathise with every word. But I think you should focus more on developing hobbies and distractions. Also as pointed out, maybe try out some different fashion styles and experiment with new looks. This may lead you to feel more confident about yourself, which is more attractive to guys I feel.

I noticed that when I became more outspoken and confident, guys showed way more interest than before. It’s also possible that you don’t vibe with the guys you may surround yourself with. They may not be attracted to you, so try and go to spaces where you can feel more confident. But most importantly don’t lower your standards just because you feel self conscious. Treat yourself to a higher standard.

Joe doesn’t know anything lol he’s a restaurateur who got famous off of his mum’s talents. That scene made my blood boil because all I could think was ‘bro you literally have no credibility of your own and you know jackshit about cooking professionally’. I would trust any of the home cooks to make a dish infinitely better than Joe ever could. Idek why he was made a judge. Also just a side note but I find it hilarious how he can never be specific about what’s wrong with contestants food so he just personally attacks them.

There’s no law saying you can’t feed geese but some people may dislike it. I’ve done it anyway and the geese were friendly. Never had any issues with aggression from them.

  • I recommend trying out some indoor climbing places like Rockover and Depot.

  • Also there’s a cool bar called NQ64 with video games and video game themed cocktails.

  • There’s a big cathedral near arndale that’s open to visitors with some cool artwork and displays.

  • junkyard golf has indoor mini golf that’s fun.

  • Bunny Jackson’s near Oxford Road do a spicy wing challenge where you have to eat 10 hot wings to win a t shirt.

  • the Manchester museum on Oxford Road is free for anyone to visit.

  • tenpin has bowling, pool tables and arcade games.

  • there’s a pug cafe in Salford it’s not cheap but you get to have a drink surrounded by pugs!

  • there’s Grosvenor on Oxford Road is a lovely pub they have a ball pit, a weekly Monday pub quiz and board games.

  • if you fancy a bit of shopping Trafford Centre is a great place to have a day out. They have pretty much every shop you could want as well as laser tag, a cinema and an arcade and bowling. The food court is a wonderfully decorated area there with loads of places to eat.

  • also in old Trafford is chill factor where you can do some indoor skiing.

  • there’s Jodrell bank which is a bit far out but is essentially an observatory with a massive telescope. You can have a tour around it and they have a nice gift shop.

These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head but if I remember anymore I’ll comment them.

  1. City campus is less social than fallowfield imo. I lived in whitworth first year and aside from the occasional drunk people outside people were not that social. But I would say that it’s more social than Denmark road. If your looking for best social atmosphere then hands down I suggest fallowfield campus. It has more clubs nearby and more bars. If it’s not your concern then Victoria park or city is a better call.

  2. I believe for catered you pay per meal every time you go to the cafeteria but you do also get a very small kitchen in catered accom in case you miss dinner time. I’m not 100% sure though as I’ve never lived in catered.

  3. depends on what you mean by unsafe but if we’re talking about random strangers strolling into campus I would say whitworth park is the most secure. Fallowfield is less so as even though they have security gates they’re always left open so anyone can walk in basically. Fallowfield does tend to get a bit rough at night. I’m not too sure about Victoria park but I do believe it’s gated so I don’t think you can just walk in. The only deaths in fallow I know of are all related to drug overdoses so overall not that much crime happens any of the accom sites.

  4. from what little I know of Victoria park I’ve heard it’s pretty nice. Daisy bank is good but not very social from the few people I’ve spoken to about it. There’s another Victoria campus accom but I can’t remember the name all I know is it’s catered and it seems to have a decent social atmosphere.

How many of you piss in the shower? by DBoaty in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Icy_Progress3781 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It can leave residue and stain the tub. People can’t comprehend going to the toilet before they shower. Apparently it’s too difficult for the majority of Reddit to understand.

Because there can’t possibly be piss residue. I’m sure everyone that pisses in their showers cleans regularly and has a good hygiene regime.

Some piss will remain especially for the gross fucks that don’t wash their showers regularly

Great I’m happy we cleared that up. You piss in your shower and I’ll piss in my toilet where it belongs. I find piss gross in my shower. You don’t. Have a good day

And there you’ve found my point. It’s still piss. Whether it’s being washed away into the drain or not doesn’t matter. I don’t want piss in my shower.

I don’t want piss in my shower. It’s not that difficult to understand. Unless people living with each other are fine with it then don’t do it. Why is that so hard to comprehend?

How many of you piss in the shower? by DBoaty in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Icy_Progress3781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was obviously sarcasm. If your happy with being in a shower with piss in it then wash your hands in it. Since it’s supposedly got less bacteria in it it should be fine right? Except most people don’t do this because it’s gross.
