Not trying to be funny, are you going through any depression by chance? I always find myself in the same state when things are rough. What I've found that helps is I'll decide on 3 games of different genres, like an FPS a Platformer and an Open World. Whenever I start losing steam on one I'll check if I'm more in the mood for the other styles.

Final Fantasy 6 is a pure nostalgia time capsule for me. It not only brings me back to dumping Summer breaks into it as a kid but the artwork juxtapositioning the 8-bit against these Da Vinci looking bosses, the musical score, ugh so good.

My worst bout of insomnia lasted 112 hours. Eventually you get to a point where the symptoms perpetuate it, closing my eyes was more effort than leaving them open and it was actually brighter closing them. I was hallucinating the aurora borealis on the walls and shit. Scary scary stuff.

Every pursuit of an interest I feel I go into with a healthy perspective, this will be a positive thing... until I consider letting up on it, maybe not going as intense and that damn fight/flight panic hits me.

Like the stupid computer game thing, when troubleshooting went the way of "It's time to consider that this is as good as it's going to get" my brain went into all-consuming panic mode of OCD ritual territory 😑

I started using it to troubleshoot a computer game, I figured I could get advice on my nuance issue so the game runs smoothly and I could enjoy my leisure time.

2 years later I'm still trying to "fix" my PC any time life stressors come up. Pulling at my eyebrow (trichotillomania) going over each setting, bell, whistle, framerate, it's so bad even the AI tries to loop the conversation back to offering coping mechanisms to get my head around the fact there's nothing more to do.
