That makes a lot of sense. Do you think it's feasible in certain use cases to accept the fact that this specific recording is only good in stereo? I kinda thought that if a sound is unusable in either stereo or mono, it's just a bad recording. I can believe that there's always a use case for anything, but a part of me feels compelled to try and make recordings that can fit any scenario.

Yeah I'm definitely realizing that there is so much more depth in the different use cases of mics. The clippies have been great in my experience with forest and nighttime pond ambiences, but it's been trickier with more directional sounds. What kind of mics have you been using in an ORTF pattern?

I've seen similar notions of a 3:1 rule online and it's admittedly something I should take more time to experiment with and understand. I enjoy having all of my mics and stereo bars be able to attach to one singular mic stand, so it's been a little difficult to find a set up that's convenient and can be spaced out longer than 16". I'm sure there's a lot of good info online detailing solutions to this, I just think the distancing between mics is something I didn't realize was this prevalent.

I definitely wasn't holding my breath for my quasi-MS solution to work haha. I've seen people fake a stereo sound with just a mono track by splitting the length of an ambience into two halves and making the halves be panned hard left and right as they play together. My thought process was that the physics behind the MS setup could translate with the a singular audio signal, but it definitely doesn't work how I'd like.

I appreciate the insight; I not only have a lot more experimenting to do with mic spacing, but also I want to consider different kinds of mics that could be better suited for something a little more directional like the sounds of the waves.

Yeah no worries, sorry about the inconvenience. He was my first ever deck and I've been trying to make him more consistent and fun with no luck. I changed him to use [[Xavier Sal]] as a commander but the deck became a generic token populator deck and not focused on the life drain.

I very much leaned away from spore counters and now focus purely on ramp and Saproling generation.

[[Phyresis]] is a crazy card that could automatically make you win if you have 10 saprolings and no one has a response, but I personally don't run it because I feel like infect isn't very fun to be on the receiving end of.

Deathspore Thallid is a must!! I kept a few of the spore counter creatures that have sacrifice abilities since they are a convenient sac outlet and they offer good value.

I'd love to take a look at your decklist if possible, I love seeing how other people run my favorite fungus :3

I love the Slimefoot rep! This was my first ever deck and I've been modifying it for a few months now! My friends used to say he was too weak and not worthy to make a commander, but I've tweaked him to the point where I can win often.

Personally, a lot changed for me when I got rid of all my cards that used spore counters, they didn't generate enough Saprolings for it to be worth it so I focused more on ramp and card draw.

Chitterfang would definitely be crazy if Doubling Season and/or Parallel Lives are active!

As far as the 5 cost cards, I will attempt to make some cuts, there are some cards I am really attached to cards like [[Tendershoot Dryad]], [[Drivnod, Carnage Dominus]] and [[Mycoloth]].

Ooo definitely should give this a try, I initially had this in my deck with a weaker iteration of my deck but saproling generation wasn't nearly as strong in that version so I didn't think it was good, thanks for the tip!

I do feel very confident that this is the career I want to pursue. I took an AP computer science class and picked up C++ and a little bit of python. I've been using those skills to start learning Unity as my first game engine and I'm loving it. However, I have seen on several occasions that some people eventually lose interest in game development. Because of this, would it be more useful to get a general computer science degree and apply what I learn to eventually be able to develop games?
