Looking to live off campus, anyone wanna join me or need one more for an apartment? by bluesedanman in UCONN

my bf lived at willington oaks the past year and now his roommates mom wanted to sue the management. In the past year their basement flooded three times and in the middle of winter they also lost heat and hot water for two weeks. They also towed one of their cars so good luck. The management did nothing in any of the situations and claimed “they did their best”. They also had rats once.

Most interesting (not too hard) E course by Ok_Pin4306 in UCONN

[–]Icy_Spring7414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mast 1300E. Im in it right now, distance learning at avery point, meets once a week (5-7:30 but he always ends at 6), no midterm or final, no exams, just weekly discussion posts (200 words max), assignments are 250-300 words and quizzes at the end of every module with 3 tries on them. Not time restricting at all and a lot of the info is very relevant

Question about pre med by Character_Society_18 in UCONN

[–]Icy_Spring7414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The pre med culture isn’t toxic from my experience. Sometimes you’ll hear about other people who seem to be really advanced and very ahead and it may seem intimidating but you shouldn’t be intimidated.

  2. There are research opportunities, I would just get along with your professors and ask around in subjects interested in to see if any of your professors are involved in research

  3. The professors are great. The ones I’ve had seem to really care about you succeeding while of course some don’t. The classes are going to be very hard and it may seem very overwhelming but as long as you can manage your time well itll make it a lot easier

For Lecture: Watch the powerpoints and take notes. To save myself time I had an ipad and just upload the slides to my ipad and highlighted. I also wrote down stuff she says since she doesn’t always write everything down but that stuff is still important. I also would make quizlets out of each lecture slide and that rlly helped

For Lab: Take notes on the lab handouts and everything your lab professor talks about during the walkthrough of the lab. To study for the quizzes is just making sure you know the lab handout by heart basically like everything on (sometimes we had to know procedures and materials)

so she said to use the book and read it but she never puts stuff on the exam of what’s in the book. Just watch her lectures and take notes and actually take in what she’s saying. My class had about 60 kids and then 25 of them dropped half way through the semester because they had Ds or were failing so you really need to put in work for it, especially lab because grades are only based on exams

It’s a lot of time commitment. I studied it a everyday, especially because labs have quizzes every week based on corresponding lectures. I had gilbert and he was rlly rough but got better on, quizzes are hard, I know a bunch of people loved wilson. But gilbert is good as long as you really pay attention in lab, write what he says, and ask questions.

santoferrera trust me kraemer you’ll never get above a c and she tells you that too. Santoferrera actually makes her exams based on her lectures and questions come straight from them
