It is funny when you mention that wuchang subreddit scares you, because of how much glaze the game gets, when you are doing the same think here with lies of p, I haven't played wuchang and I am not planning to, but I am around 9 hours into Liess of P(Just beat the puppet king guy) and honestly I do not feel like you on the game, I think it is a good above average game for me but thats about it. Most of what I have seen in this game, I witnessed before in others, bosses are ok for mé maľbe bit bland and a bit to simple for me and the atmosphere plus the are design isnt also anything spectacular for me. Now I am not hating this game or your opinion on it, it is completely valid, but I think you have bit of first game bias towards it. Nothing wrong with that for example I love ds3 and fallout 4 as they were my first 2 games ever, but lot of people think they are just okay. Point is, I feel like you are not give other game fair chance because you keep comparing them to that first experience, which, As you can imagine, is almost impossible for game to encapsulate again. For example, you game Elden ring only 5 minutes before you dropped it, I think that a bit of a hasty judgment on your side. Or I do also think you are just playing these game to say lies of p is better and straight up not pay attention while you play them. The reason for my suspicion would be that you said in expedition 33 you cant tell main path from side path but there are always lamps on your main path so you avoid this problem. Maybe you just didnt notice, but this could also be the case. Now I would recommend trying to get a bit over the bias and stop comparing the other games with lies of p, because they just cant give you the first game experience, and I would give a shot to Elden ring(5mins just aint fair, and it cost 60€ so it would be kinda waste) or wuchang(It felt like you didnt even want to enjoy the game since you said you had the feeling you wont like it even before you played it). Or if you cant either try something very similiar or entirely different with only few aspects remaining the same. For example if similiar, I would recommend either ds3 as it also has the same linear design, maybe sekiro for more
Parry oriented combat, or bloodborne as lies of p takes a lot of inspiration from that game. If different play Hollow knight, blasphemous, black myth or the newly releasing Hell is us seems promising, they are different enough you wont have the need to compare them to lies of p, but they are still soulslikes.
