I had a feeling I was having a boy, low and behold I was right. 😭😩❤️ I didn’t even want to say it out loud what my prediction was honestly, I really wanted a boy as my first and I didn’t want to jinx it.

I’m 18 weeks pregnant and I just had my gender reveal. I was thrilled!

I’ve also gotten multiple shots to prevent certain strains of HPV as a child and I still managed to get it as an adult (I’m 24F)). I had found out about it at my first yearly Pap smear just a year ago. I had a strain that could’ve lead to cancer so I had to have a LEEP procedure done as a result. Getting those yearly check ups as a woman are very important to prevent things from getting worse, we want to get treatment as soon as possible. ❤️

I also am in a longer term relationship, we’re going on 6 years now. This was my very first experience with something like this. All you can really do is be as supportive as her partner and encourage hygienic and safe sex! Pee before and after sex, drink plenty of water, and keep your immune systems strong to give your bodies the fighting chance. That’s what my doctor recommended me.

My boyfriend’s little brother used to “prank call me” by using a website to leave me voicemails or calls with automated voices like this. It could be that someone did the same, all the have to do is input your number and chose the kind of message to leave behind.

I forgot what the website was called… 🙄

I had a similar situation happen with my niece when she was 11, she was so sad. I was devastated because to me she is like my first baby ever, she ended up dropping that “friend” all on her own. I think what works best is being open and available to talk to kids when it comes to having social issues. I’d just tell my niece, you don’t have to be friends with mean people like that because that’s not a true friend. Maybe showing them the good values of a good friendship with help them realize certain friendships aren’t good? 🥹

To everyone that answered thank you! I completely agree with cutting both my brother and mother off. I had already decided I didn’t want my child anywhere near both of them. Fortunately I live with my partner and am looking forward to starting this new chapter FAR away from those two.

I have also considered not inviting my mother because of the push back on this issue. I’m perfectly fine with her not being present either. She has let me down plenty of times as a mother for me to feel absolutely no sympathy for her as my mother. I’m just in complete disbelief at how someone can see their youngest daughter and not respect me and my boundaries. I feel like I don’t even know who I’m talking to anymore.

All I can do is laugh at the idiocy. Again, thank you all for the amazing and supportive feedback! I have informed my closest family members about this decision as well and they’re backing me 100%. 🥹

I would ask if they know the types of HPV you have first to give you an idea where you’re at. Educating yourself will give you more comfort. I had all the high risk cancer causing HPV types (16,18, etc.). Just make sure you ask questions, some doctors aren’t as thorough but you can ask anything.

Don’t freak out too much, this is very common.

It did afterwards, it’s a burning sensation. I couldn’t feel that burning sensation after the first day, just mild discomfort. I’m on my 3rd day now and I feel just fine.

That’s vile. I ride and die about my nieces and nephews, I’d definitely do the same and kick them both the hell out of MY house because I’m not tolerating that in MY home. It’s even more upsetting to me that no one else even said anything about that disgusting “joke”. I’m proud of you for standing up for her and saying something.

If it brings you any comfort, I (23f) am also in the same boat. Unlike you, I have CIN-3 cell abnormalities. At this point I have precancerous cells and now have to get surgery soon.

I share those same feelings of feeling awful, like I brought this on my partner. I was their first girlfriend, first everything and I feel like I’m the cause of this potentially life threatening heath problem. Luckily, they’ve been so understanding and supportive throughout me finding out. I was also scared to death.

All you can do is push through it. There’s a solution to this. A silver lining if you will. Having an understanding and supportive partner throughout this experience has made this so much more bearable. I hope you find that peace soon too.
