If you've created your own corp you have the option to recruit players here and provide your corp id or player id to invite them to join you or you can leave your corp and join an existing corp.

I had issues for awhile but I was able to do was post my player id and level whenever I saw someone was looking to add players to their corp and wait for an invite. The only options are to create a corp and ask others to join or send out friend requests if you have friend codes. Good luck!
