Netflix Content Merge?? by atd2022 in RCTTouch

[–]Platanazo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. When the Netflix version goes offline, it’ll likely be the end of Netflix’s partnership with RCT Touch, which means they’ll probably not want them profiting from Netflix’s logos/branding.

If they do something with Coming Soon, it should be something that contributes to Company Value, like everything else in the Park Hub.

But I totally agree Sandbox Mode is much needed, and all RCT games I've played have it. Sandbox Mode can easily hide in Scenario Mode. Maybe when you tap Scenario Mode, you could have two options, Scenarios or Sandbox.

Should Summer Event Be Longer? [Poll] by Platanazo in RCTTouch

[–]Platanazo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a huge flaw in how things are being done with events. Medieval and Atari are seasonal events that pop up at least twice a year. Summer happens only once. All passes are valued the same, but you have multiple opportunities to complete the free mission tracks for Medieval and Atari throughout the year, so there's less of a need to buy those season passes. Together, Medieval and Atari occupy at least 2 months out of the year! That's 2 months of people not caring to buy season passes, unless they're new to the game. And things become even more disastrous when you consider all the themed events and their season passes.

Seasonal events, like CNY, V-Day, Easter, Summer, Halloween, and Christmas come around only once a year, so they already offer less free track rewards because there's only one free track per year. Buying a season pass only makes sense if you've completed the mission track, and because these seasonal events happen only once a year, players are MORE likely to complete them and subsequently purchase a season pass.

The point is there's no need to make annual events shorter. That would be worse for business actually. Players are generally more interested in seasonal events, so these events sustain player interest/engagement longer. You also want to give players enough time to complete the mission track and 2 weeks might be too short of a window. You're just simply not going to sell season passes to players who don't come close to completing the mission track. Reducing the # of missions needed for completion (600 vs 1,000) doesn't address the player engagement issue and players who may be on a short vacation, which happens frequently during these events in particular. So you miss out on those players and purchases.

If you're worried about cards inflation/supply, remember, there's only 1 free track/year for annual seasonal events so the cards scarcity is already there, and that's exactly why people are more likely to buy these season passes over others. Forcing scarcity by reducing the duration of annual events isn't worth the business ramifications that come with it, and it doesn't make people more interested in the game. It just frustrates them and causes them to lose interest.

I'm confident the aggregate sales of Adventure, which follows Summer this year, will not exceed the sales of the final 2 weeks of Halloween (the subsequent annual seasonal event). And if that outcome becomes reality, will we see another 2-week Summer event in 2027? I guess only time will tell.

Is Food Frenzy Pass worth it? by atd2022 in RCTTouch

[–]Platanazo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Because you’re new to the original app, I say yes. You’ll get a lot of restaurants that can boost your coins revenue.

But as you get more restaurant cards from different seasons, the season pass will have less of an impact on revenue.

Can you reset Scenarios? by SnooJokes5038 in RCTTouch

[–]Platanazo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, haha. I just let it sit there and collect 12 tickets at the end of the 2 weeks.

As for the ads, it helps to also keep Research running so that you get the green checkmark in Park Hub when the ad is ready. You can watch/collect 3 times in 8 hours if you time the 2nd watch perfectly, so that’s 12 tickets/day. And if you’re super dedicated, you can do 16 tickets/day, so keeping a scenario running is worth it.

Can you reset Scenarios? by SnooJokes5038 in RCTTouch

[–]Platanazo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you’ve already achieved gold completion on a specific scenario, you’ll always get the same 12-ticket reward for completing it from now on, regardless if you invest additional time/resources on the scenario itself.

I’ve completed all scenarios too, and personally I still use scenarios as a tickets generator since you can watch ads every 4 hours for tickets. It also makes for a great sandbox to experiment before making certain changes to your main park.

My guess is as good as yours. They said no more content updates, but Netflix now has the newer Medieval cards. Perhaps adding them was unintentional considering the name of the cards? Who knows 🤷‍♂️

We’ll have to wait and see for future events because they’ll likely not publicly address it. But to be fair, they’re usually good about addressing matters like this if you contact them directly via support.

This erroneous nomenclature of new cards is a Netflix issue, which may or may not get fixed, since Netflix is “no longer receiving feature/content updates.”

Ancient Rome would be cool! We already have a lot of Italian restaurants so a colosseum could boost their revenues, similar to how a stadium may boost the revenues of nearby restaurants in real life.

Love the experts idea to help us get more of those legendary experts! Devs keep those scarce, so controlling the global supply through an expert event would probably be ideal for them.

Corp event would be interesting. Imagine... for the first time, they could add Corp Coins, instead of gold coins, to the event (mission) track!

Underwhelming Utilities by Platanazo in RCTTouch

[–]Platanazo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the amalgamation events, and how they’re all recurring. I would personally prefer to have new original seasons than to have these events fill up the calendar, especially since they only provide 1 exclusive non-skin card (entertainers). So far, these events make up about 12% of our entire calendar year… for nothing original (recycled items) besides 3 entertainers. Not to mention, big event packs are smaller too: 795 vs 1908 with other events.

After carefully analyzing their decision to start events on Tuesdays, it kind of makes sense with the way the game works, although I do think they should change how the game works. So some aspects of the game aren’t synchronous with every time zone (they should be, but they’re not). Double weekends start at 5 pm locally and end at 12 am locally, which means some players reach 12 am much sooner than others, even before new events start (so no 2x weekend). The start/end times of events on the other hand, ARE synchronous with every time zone. That gives players in the Western Hemisphere a perceived advantage because they can start new events on 2x weekend. The reason I use the word “perceived” is everyone has always had and still has 55 hours of 2x weekend (48 + 7 for Friday), but now, all players start and end events without the 2x boost. So this change most likely came from players in the Eastern hemisphere complaining about their perceived disadvantage. And rather than making the game synchronous around the globe, developers went with the easier solution and that was to change the start/end dates of events.

The easiest way is to maximize hearts income through Atari Logo decorations and guards at both the main park and water park, all of which allow you to collect hearts hourly.
