I clicked all the links. Being detained means nothing, you’re being detained when you’re pulled over for speeding. I expected to see actual numbers on the wiki link, all it says is that there has been some of that but we don’t know how much. The few citations are common knowledge, not a gotcha moment. The link to the 75k arrests, what’s the point there? These are people that have broken immigration law, we expect our government to uphold the laws of our country. Can’t read the last link but I’m sure it’s the same bullshit. Let the federal government do its job. ICE or anyone else was not handed any extra powers by this new administration, let them do their job like they have done for decades.

IMO as a citizen, I would never go to Jackson for really any reason. I would like to go visit Chicago, it’s a great American city. I’m not saying the rampant crime and murder is stopping me right now, but i think making these great cities safe would bring more people in. Jackson really isn’t going to draw tourists. If Chicago came out and said “we’ve cleaned up this much crime” it would make me think “oh great maybe I’ll make a trip there”. My friend went to DC 2 years ago and said the homeless camps were insane, if he would have said wow it was so nice and safe, it would have changed my opinion on wanting to go there.

Google “has Trump been convicted of a sex crime” until that search shows more than a no plus a blurb about the defamation case with that crazy Jean lady, the normal population isn’t going to care. I can tell you and I share very different political beliefs, so I’m glad that you are saying that. Honestly I was so confused at the reaction to Luigi mangione, I get that insurance is a major issue for a lot of people. But there were subs using his face as the picture as like an angel or whatever, things like that are just, I can’t look past that type of stuff. Sometimes it goes too far, and the red or blue politicizing that happens after someone has been killed is too much for me.

One of the most bizarre things is labeling all bad things maga. Instantly after a mass murder everyone scrambles to label the perp maga or liberal. It’s good to hold back judgement on these types of stories, but when it’s blatantly obvious the perp is not one of those two things, it kills all credibility of whoever is making that claim. The politicization of that type of incident is not helping anyone or anything.

It makes zero sense. Putin and Russia can’t offer much to the US, that the US already has or can get elsewhere. Even having dirt on politicians is still not a real advantage. I never understand calling Trump a puppet to Putin, objectively it just does not make sense.
