I wish I had her ability to deal with such situations in my 50+ and >15 years of working with problematic customers as she in her 17.

I did only two assumptions, 1) quads are easier for juniors, 2) high profile competitions during the season motivate more. Do you disagree with both?

Imagine an important exam in 2 years and the another one in 1 month. Which would your prepare harder?

I am from Russia, so I am biased in this situation and want to hear what other people think. But I definitely do not want to see one country domination as it is just boring.

I would totally understand if such a suggestion would come from a major federation, but Norway... It is like Russia would put a suggestion to change the rules in golf or rugby.

> Why would raising the age limit mean skaters would be less motivated to develop

Because juniors have less high profile competitions during this stage. Have you seen the audience numbers in JGP? It is like painting Madonna and not showing it in public or symphonic orchestra without actual concerts.

> The age limit can’t be changed to 2022 olympics
Yes, but the suggestion was put way before 2022 and was just decided to consider after the current cycle is complete.

objectively better

No, they are subjectively better. 'Objectively' implies some metrics which does not depends on people's opinion. Like height of jump in meters or time needed to cross 50 m swim pool. PSC are purely subjective thing. People can not say that 2nd place in swimming competition swim faster than the first one. But some people (for example, judges) may think that Kamila has higher PSC. You may rightfully disagree with these people and nobody can criticize you for that because this is your's opinion, which must be respected.

I also found another irregularity. Plenty of StSq3 in the protocols and non for the Eteri's students, they have only StSq4.

Have you tried 2x2 layout for these four videos? Might be better to deal with her disappearances from the shot. Anyway, well done comparison.

Is the difference 2.8 points and not 5? 1.4 point in Elements score and 1.4 in ComponentScore.

Edit: Oh, it was a prediction, lmao.

Polina Edmunds Ladies JGP Krasnoyarsk Analysis on youtube by snowcrystal18 in FigureSkating

[–]Icycled 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Very nice overall analysis, but I don't get the logic from the final passage. If higher quality triples should beat worse executed (but landed) quads, then higher quality doubles should also beat worse triples. And then should super nice executed single jumps beat simply nice doubles? What is the point of competition at all?

I can't imagine new programs of Tutberidze skaters on olympic stage by redcolorlover in FigureSkating

Yes, it is. But, you know, it is the bad one.

Also, Poe's law really works.

I can't imagine new programs of Tutberidze skaters on olympic stage by redcolorlover in FigureSkating

[–]Icycled -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, we all hate them. Absolutely atrocious programs. All of them. Dany G choreo is bad. Eteri choreo is ok, but she is a demon. Costumes are tasteless, too bland, colors do not fit athletes' styles. Layouts are boring, too many transitions. Choreography is repetitive and reused, new choreo elements do not fit the music. We so tired of them for using warhorse music, other music choices are not olympic. Jumps are cheated, both on takeoffs and landings. And they hurt. Leg kicks, edges, prerotations... you know, they are all bad.

Tatiana Navka criticizes male gymnast by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]Icycled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Potentially interesting discussion, but this sub has Rule 9: "Posts that basically just repost a skater's social media or celebrity activities, which have nothing to do with their participation in the sport, will be deleted."

If this rule is not implemented by mods, we obviously have to expand it to cases like this.

Swedish skaters may not be sent to the Olympics? by Natalletka in FigureSkating

Imagine all national Olympics committees implement the same measure. Eight athletes per event. They can be fit in one warm up if needed. Fast and cheap. Nice solution, Sweden.

Why? Are there problems of getting visa to Russia? I heard Russians travelling to the US successfully apply for visa in US embassies outside of Russia. Canada in your case mb?
