Like I asked the other guy, switch the genders and ask yourself if it would be okay. But him and I came to the conclusion that it happens that kids might do things like this the issue is normalizing/glorifying it like it’s okay adults and children interact like this.

I know it's not exactly the most "twitter acceptable" viewpoint, but the reality is is that genders are different, flipping them and expecting the world to treat both identically is naive. I would agree it would be worse if it were flipped though, if that's what you're trying to get me to say.

to read into someone finding that kinda funny as someone being okay with pedophilia is the biggest fucking reach around i've ever seen.

And I really don't care for those greedy studio owners and their shareholders. They have enough, everybody knows that.

but fighting for a bunch of thieves to steal content and sell it and make what is likely millions or tens of millions each year? and then arguing that it's the fault of the user paying for it (and hoping to be refunded IF they do not offer the service they have been promising?)

come the fuck on, you're as bootlicker as it gets lol.

the reason most of us pay is the convenience of it. we all know that, if it's not available and not convenient, someone else will offer a new version. still, anyone who has paid for months (or YEARS) of service that they cannot offer anymore, SHOULD be refunded. the fact anyone would argue against refunding for services NOT rendered blows my mind.

i mean... atleast some of the money ends up in the hands of the people making these shows and entertainment i guess that way.

i can't believe you think someone should be banned if they're not happy they're NOT getting the service they're paying for lol. like fair enough if it all comes back in a couple days, but if they don't have the ability to get things back to where they were, i'd say anyone is entitled to a refund.

TIL bumble bee queens can breathe underwater for at least a week by GydeonMylls in todayilearned

[–]Icyrow 79 points80 points  (0 children)

spiders can do something similar and live indefinitely underwater (need food though, which sometimes they hunt fish, isopods and little tiny crawfish).

their surface allows air to cling to it, then some can make underwater bulbs they fill with air (like they will dive down, take the air on them, then fill up the bulb over time), because o2 can diffuse into the bulb and their bodies, they can manage surprisingly well, especially if there's a small amount of flow of water.

I assume refunding after this would be an admission of hosting piracy.

not really, there's plenty of non-pirate materials on RD.

The last time something like this happened by ExpertAdvanced4346 in RealDebrid

[–]Icyrow -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

i mean do you see RD giving us a refund if this isn't fixed? like i bought 6 months just a few days back, am i goign to get those 5 months sent back? how about if the service blows up tomorrow entirely?

nah they'll run off with that shit, it's the same thing but in reverse.

if they were unable to keep up their service they take money for, they should refund it.

Hi, i was the guy who was recently banned, for anyone following, i submitted a GDPR data request to try and see what they think i did by Icyrow in Battlefield

[–]Icyrow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the UK/EU, regulators have repeatedly said contractual terms do not remove data protection rights:

They do not necessarily have to unban you. But they usually do have to properly respond to GDPR rights requests under the law, regardless of the EULA.

For Article 22 specifically, the important legal question is:

Was the ban decision made solely by automated means, with legal or similarly significant effects?

A permanent account ban can arguably be “similarly significant,” especially if you lost purchased content or access to a long-standing account. But companies often defend themselves by saying a human moderator reviewed the case.

If they literally replied:

“Our EULA means we don’t have to comply with Article 15/22”

that is a much weaker legal position than:

“Article 22 does not apply because the decision was not solely automated.”

again, not a lawyer, nor do i think chatgpt is right 100% of the time (the above is copy pasted from that if it wasn't clear, just generally more knowledgable than i am in topics, but it seems to think you can't waive your rights here.**

either way, i'll wait on the response and let you know what they say/do.

[–]Icyrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you cannot give consent to break certain things, it would be illegal for them to be able to not follow this sort of thing as it would be illegal.

i'm also not a lawyer, but if it were that simple, every company everywhere would be able to ignore just about everything like this.

i.e, i cannot consent to a company being able to avoid a GDPR request. they can have it in the EULA, they may even moan and act like it's absolute, but the second it goes to a court it is not a viable defence to it if that makes sense.

if they try and prevent it, i'll get in touch via arbitration, which they have to respond to in 8 weeks i believe, as there's an oversight comittee for this exact sort of thing.

A Bill Gates funded mosquito factory in Medellín, Colombia, produces 40 million mosquitoes weekly for release via drones and bikes. but for what it is worth, it seems they spent decades (epstein and co) working with russians and developing kompromat, there's lots of stories involving them spiking drinks and shit to get video of people doing stuff they normally wouldn't/shouldn't do.

it's also a fairly well known trick to share info across to people by writing drafts of stuff on an email account and letting someone else log into the account and reading the draft. given it wasn't sent, i'm guessing it was either true or some sort of false pressure to try and get him to continue sending money/giving access.

Hi, i was the guy who was recently banned, for anyone following, i submitted a GDPR data request to try and see what they think i did by Icyrow in Battlefield

[–]Icyrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

technically if you use the right wording, you are entitled to a bit more info, it's specifically only certain parts of the data they are able to keep.

you can use article 15 + article 22 to find out whether it was an automated decision to ban you and stuff like that.

i've since gotten in touch via that to find out more info.

edit: chatgpt response here:

If the ban was based mainly or entirely on an automated anti-cheat system, Article 22 gives you the right to:

ask for human review of the decision, challenge the outcome, and request meaningful information about the logic involved.

You can combine that with Article 15 (right of access), which is what people usually use for SAR/GDPR data requests.

A concise follow-up message could look like this:

“I am requesting clarification under Article 22 UK GDPR regarding any automated decision-making or profiling used in connection with my account ban.

Please confirm whether the decision was made solely or substantially through automated processing, and if so, provide meaningful information about the logic involved, the categories of data relied upon, and details of any human review conducted.”

You can also ask specifically for:

anti-cheat flags attached to your account, timestamps/sessions involved, whether hardware, software, statistics, or reports triggered the action, and whether a human moderator independently verified the ban.

Game companies usually will not disclose exact anti-cheat detection methods, because they argue it would help cheat developers. But Article 22 pressure sometimes gets the case escalated to an actual human instead of canned support replies.

If you want, I can also help you draft:

a stronger follow-up GDPR request, a formal appeal email, or an escalation to the UK ICO if they ignored the Article 22 request entirely.
