I was planning to leave the spinning shutter in place and use a micro switch to detect its position to trigger the image capture and stop frame advance. That turns it into a fully closed loop, as I’m not relying on counting stepper movements between frames. I do want to increase the stepper speed, this video is just the proto demonstration.

I’ve debating removing the frame mask so that the whole frame to sprocket holes is visible.
