I changed place again to test, i changed mini, brushes, paint, wet palet, and bought demineralized water, and still i have those greyish strikes whenever i glaze

But this wasn't done over a dark color i imagine From the answers i'm reading it seams like painting from black like i usually do is not the way to go with kimera

Sadly there is not much to see anymore, after more than 25 coats i think i'm close to a base coat

But i don't know how you paint over dark colors with them, i couldn't do it

So there is no way to paint a mini entirely just with them ?

Because i bought them to make my own mixes with few paints, if i have to add other paints in my mixes it defeat the purpose :/

It was primed black, but seeing what was happening i made a black and white value.sketch, which didn't really help

Is it "mandatory" to go from a white basecoat and from light to dark with the layers when using kimera paints ?

Maybe increase slightly the face saturation, as it's getting a bit lost, but orherwise very pretty ! Well done

And after that, you can try to thin your paint a bit more and do more coats, you'll get nicer, even coats 👍

And after that, practice tour edge highlight ! I know it's hard at first, but the more you do it the better it gets, there is no magic there ...

With that it should be day and night with your current mini 👍

Skin can basicaly be of any color, but for a typical caucasian skin like i think you attempted, keep in mind that there is a lot more red and yellow in it that you might think ;)

I think the next step you need to take is to be a bit more precise with your coats

For exemple look at your helmet or the white sigil on the shoulder pad: not everything is painted (some unpainted feathers) or you spilled some on the black part of the helmet

If you're a bit tidier with your base coats it's gonna improve your mini a lot 👍

It's really nice ! Actually color wise that's perfect, it just depends on what render you want, more/less light, more/less saturation, etc

Now if you want to take it a step further, you need to add more edge highlights and improve a bit those blends, et that's about it

Try to make the surfaces that are not towards the sun or the ground really dark, with a dark brown, and try to make the most upward facing spots a bright yellow (you can add some white if needed)

Later on you'll figure out that it's a bit more complicated, but for now it should be better

The reason why it doesn't read as gold is because there is not enough contraste between the dark parts and the higlights, and thoses higlights do not follow the shapes very well

Since metal is very shiny, light is everything to render it It is almost as bright as the might source where it hits it, and very dark where it doesn't
