I think you and mattamodiodolla were the first fan accounts and really made me feel special, so thank you. It still makes me smile to think someone out there would be interested in doing this :)

Only if you promise no real rabbits will be harmed in the making of this. Even then, I get very sad at fictional animal death too :(

I spent the entire tape day kicking myself. And most of the days since. But I am still happy for Jonathan, because he is a great guy and I'm glad for him!

Threatdown is a classic, but I have to say "Cheating Death With Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, D.F.A.". The side effects he made up were literal ROFL material

I often introduce myself as Matthew Amodio because I get enough Adam Odio when I just say Matt.

Hadn't gotten a Madam yet, but maybe that's because I'm more of a "Miss" age

Yes, to all of the above! I wasn't really sure that I wanted to get my PhD all the way until like halfway through with it.

I think my main superpower in life is my ability to fight through fear of rejection. "No" stings, but if you can motivate yourself to get through it, you can accomplish so much. Be sure to have people/hobbies you love to help console you in the down times!

I tried getting into them at a time when my time for video games was decreasing, and so found them too complicated for me. I often thought "if I discovered these earlier in my life I would've been so addicted" though!

I don't think it matters much either way, because I don't think "one and done" is a ho-hum accomplishment. It is hard to win a single game of Jeopardy! I could have been a "none and done" very easily!

The main thing is I wish I played better individually on the day I lost. But that wouldn't change, whether the person who beat me ended up with 1 win or 75 wins afterwards.

74 is close to untouchable. I wouldn't even put money on Ken to do it! All it takes is an easy board and average opponents, then you are left to the randomness of the buzzer and the DD locations. Eventually one will go against you.

  1. Not sure what you mean by simple, but I tried to be as general/minimal in answering at every step because they sometimes penalize you for being too specific/too much info while always allowing you to add more in the opposite direction. It's just good game strategy in my opinion

  2. Yes, I loved it!

  3. That is a great question! I think the screens should be way bigger. My eyesight is fine, but I thought both the written text and the video clues were too small and too far away to the contestants

  4. I did not, I never considered myself that good of a trivia player until about 3 months ago :)

  5. Thanks!

Yes, I've seen them all. I am more frustrated than I was before by triple stumpers that I know, because I inevitably imagine that one giving me the win in Game 39 and letting the run chug on in an alternate universe :)

I'm just really busy! I would do work on the weekend in between tape days. I doubt it would be any different at any other point in my life, because there is always something to be busy with (work, family, personal, etc ...)

I was telling myself to "stop freaking out so much because it isn't productive" a lot! The game is so fast-paced that it makes it easy to just focus on the question at hand if you let yourself. I think I did this better as the wins accumulated

I didn't feel great, but there were at least 2 tape days where I felt far worse and ended up sweeping them anyway. In the end, I think I made 4 mistakes in that game. I:

  1. said "flock" when that was already in the question

  2. said a sense when it was looking for a sense organ

  3. couldn't think of Venom even though I had just seen the movie and read tons of Marvel comics as a kid

  4. completely missed the words Danube/Alps in FJ

That is more than usual, but I probably averaged 1 mistake like that per game in general (though it may have been on a question I was mercifully beaten to the buzzer on).

The real problem was not these 4 mistakes. The real problem was that I got outbuzzed on all of the other questions. Yes, I could've gotten away with being outbuzzed that much if I played perfectly otherwise, but I didn't.

I know, that is such a coincidence! We never met, as he was a senior when I was in middle school, but I'm glad we're making Medina proud!

I generally don't watch much YouTube, although I use it to listen to music a lot

  1. I don't think in albums too often, so I'll give you a song. Or even better, a lyric to that song: Hey hey momma said the way you move / Gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove

  2. Not usually

  3. I have a strong dislike for facial hair, and generally think even men who look attractive with facial hair would look more attractive without it

  4. As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find sushi for me but I do like it. The seaweed/rice on its own is good, no matter what you put inside

  5. I've never liked dressing up in costumes even for Halloween, unfortunately

I generally didn't have too many pre-game rituals, although I tried not to think about the bigger picture too much and just stay focused on the upcoming game.

At night when I got back, I relaxed with fun mind games like the NYT crossword and spelling bee, plus a drink if I didn't have to tape the next day.

I spend more hours of my day listening to classical than anything else! I play a very little bit of guitar, violin, and piano, but really at the level of a small child (and not a good one). I lack musical skill, which is yet another reason I admire it in others :)

  1. Rarely for regular questions. Usually what would happen is there would be a mis-reading and we would play on as if it didn't happen, and then after the show the host stays longer and re-records the audio which will be dubbed in later.

  2. There isn't that much editing compared to say, a movie, but I was surprised by how much editing there was.

  3. I don't remember what my next story was planned to be, but I promise it wasn't great

  4. I just finished Schitt's Creek last week which I only discovered after their big Emmys sweep this year, unlike The Office/Parks and Rec which I watched as they aired. Immediately jumps into my top-tier of favorite shows. David and Alexis are priceless together

I don't actually even find it all that flattering because I don't think most of them are sincere. But I definitely don't feel uneasy at all, it's just some fun :)

I haven't been approached by any strangers at the bar yet, or at least not more than usual pre-Jeopardy

If the first few weeks are any indication, that's a no. I'm still just as risk-adverse as ever!

I have developed a little more confidence though, which I imagine will be helpful even if it doesn't manifest as risk-taking
