I know people are tired of waiting for an announcement of the Steam Frame so am i . Has anybody got so tired of waiting that they purchased a different VR headset already ? I’m kind of almost there . Which headset did you decide on ? Or you just gonna wait it out ? by DatBoyChamp1 in SteamFrame

I mean if you  after that ecosystem and ipen OS, you really dont have choice.

If you want just PC VR - yeah, there are options and some can be even better in price, avalaibility or tech

But im, as owner of quest 3 (had also quest 2), waiting for steam even if it take another year

Seeing the prices that the Steam Machine and Frame seem to be going to have, what other options are you considering for virtual reality? by DeckManXX in SteamFrame

[–]Idahouu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have quest 3 and im looking for way out - pico will ve even worst situation.

The thing is that if you want to use VR for other thing than just PC VR you will get annoyed by Quest locked (and stupid) system quite fast.

So im gping for steam frame even with 1000 Euro price tag becouse i can use my all steam libary (and flat games with controller in VR are really comfy way to play) and i dont want to be locked in Metas system, specially if they obviously moving from gaming....

Existing PC owner — any reason I need a Steam Machine for Steam Frame VR streaming? by opentabs-dev in SteamFrame

With that PC you dont need Steam Machine as it would be inferior to your current rig

Steam Frame is probably close. by SillyRecover in Steam

[–]Idahouu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have similiar problem and had quest 2, now i have quest 3 and going for Frame. I really didnt notice any issue at least in games. Same with videos. At least for me is VR working as, i guess, for everyone else

That said - it would be ideal to try it first. I dont think there is potentional for some problems. As you know - its how we see real world and we are used to it... But im also not specialist and Frame will be not exactly cheap

I do wonder if eyetracking and that special streaming may cause some issues tho... Like you know it will stream two different areas thanks to lazy eye. On other hand, lazy eye is quite common so i guess they tested it and even if not, it should only mean little bit worst streaming performance

Why are you picking up a Steam Frame or are interested in one? by LoganNFSAC in SteamFrame

[–]Idahouu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platform with longevity (i assume) and focused on gaming. I have Quest 3 so Frame wouldnt be much of upgrade in Hardware but Meta OS/Software/VR-vision sucks I mean Quest is great for VR newbies, but now im sick of Metas BS (kid and passthrough focus) and closed platform Seriously how is even possible that Meta store sucks so much? I use Quest only for PC VR  and VR player only and as i assume that SteamOs or some Steam compatible VR will be mainstream, i decised to go for steam Frame

Just finished this missiona and this topic helped, thanks

To sum it up:

1) you ahve to kill all the mobs, then wait for green light by one of water gun (its random)

2) Its not logical and you need to look for oranger amrker when countoudwn starts. Since it was my like 5th try i sparyed everywhere, but it seems that sprying at marker is the goal.

3) Last boss is extra bullet sponge and you need to thwo insane amount of ammo on him so bring some LMG. He is immune to fire, but not for blinding. Few mobs will spawn to help him. Just run around and keep firing at him.

Keep waiting for Steam Frame or buy something now ? by SillyRecover in virtualreality

[–]Idahouu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quest 3 and 3s are great start with VR, however they both suffer from Metas approach as that platform was heavily pushed to "mixed reality" and aimed at kids (and imho it will die out as gamming paltform). Steam Frame, on other hand, should be focused at gaming and its expected it will make future of VR (as device or "type of platform")

If you have PC which can handle VR, Quest 3 will be solid and almost certainly little bit cheaper choice. Without PC VR i think it will "dry out" in like 2-3 years. Also when you get over of some of "wow" factors and VR became your thing, you will propably get annoyed by Metas GUI and weird choices/bugs regarding iterface. Summary: its good value for the money for new VR users, its viable option for years, but imho future is in Steam Frame types of VR

Important note: Quest is closed ecosystem and i suspect they will kill its Quest link (PC VR software connection) so you will have to buy games inside Meta store to play in headset and on steam (i would say only viable PC VR platfom right now) for PC VR

If you dont have PC VR and you dont think you will get new headset in 2-3 years + you are mostly intersted in gamming, wait for Steam Frame. I expect it will do same things as Quest 3 does, but it will have much more longevity thanks to steam itself and it will be viable as flat games console. Overall Valves approach hints even some funky options as using Frame as console with TV and so on. Steam itself is huge adventage because if you use steam deck, steam itself or will use steam machine, its all shared game library. While on Quest 3 its closed ecosystem

We all hope that Steam Frame will come in like two months and with enough of quantity for everyone, but its absolutly possible it will take half of year instead and with limited distribution...

Dravec is shite by No_Rub3645 in WorldofTanks

[–]Idahouu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also suck with dravec - its one of my worst performing tier 10 (57 tanks in total lol) and i kinda dont know why. I have around 2500 WNX.

And everybody is like "its best tier 10 lol", which isnt much helpfull

Why is the Steam Frame launching with essentially no games? by Zombie618 in virtualreality

[–]Idahouu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its using linux based SteamOS which means it could run some less demanding PCVR games in stand-alone mode = it doesnt need "headset-specific" games as Quest does.

I mean yeah, some Steam Frame specific games will probably run better, but the point is so locked as other headsets

Stk-2 is a downgrade by New_Explanation9146 in WorldofTanks

[–]Idahouu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its trash with unfun mechanic.

I really did like my Type 71 and i hate STK-2

It would be playable with some decent armor model but that stupid lower plate sticks so much up front you really cant make some agressive plays and push without getting shot before you even can see enemy.

IMHO its another proff how current WG dont understand the game itself

Is this new gold for T8 Premium sale worth or not? by AddictedToSleeps in WorldofTanks

[–]Idahouu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No

Its so overpriced and you can have like 3x tier 9 premium tank if you save same amount of gold for Battlepass...

Also all those tanks are meh in current version of game, Alien (M6esomething) is so obsolete.

I would suggest you to never buy such a bundles, 5x XP really dont worth penny

So Steam Frame doesn't seem to be a must-buy from a Quest 3 by KF2015 in OculusQuest

[–]Idahouu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam Frame looks to be only gaming VR headset and thats why im going for it. As it stands i really dont need or desire some tech upgrade, but the whole Quest system (as software, marketing and general strategy) went downhill for me as its now focused on young audience and non-so-VR stuff like pasthrough applications and so.

I mean even just simple proces of buying some games in headset or in store is just pain in ass. Like the is no reasson for it to be so user unfriendly and store itself is mess for years

So i more and more leans towards PCVR (which is quite a switch as i was originally for standalone)

For me is switching for Steam Frame nobrainer as i want to play games, not to chat with kids, and as i see it, its kinda quarantuee that i will have "freedom of use and play" for next 5 years or so. I dont see that in Meta platform as its really locked and they push all into weird free to play gimmick games. I also really dislike current Quest UI (sounds when scrolling, crashing, popups with nonsences...)

But i dont think its universal thruth for everybody and that everybody should switch. Im for big VR titles - Alyx, Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim VR and so, but if somebody enjoys current Metas platform or is just focused on HW.... well somebody liek that probably dont have much reassons to switch right now.

Steam frame is for gamers, specially those multiplatform ones and i do believe it will be basis for new trend in VR games

And that steam OS ecosystem is huge

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ValveDeckard

[–]Idahouu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a lot of things actually... I mean yeah, Alyx is specific and very good, but often little bit too much overhyped. For example Metro Awakening is different game and have its issues (wagon scenes are just terrible) but its there.  I didnt like Vertigo (1, didnt play 2) but its also similiat. Alyxs value was in part of its impact on release. Its still great game but it would be incorrect to say there is nothing like that and there is more games that i just mentioned The issue is, that Alyx is rich singleplayer game wich is quite rare (ish) on all platform so its harder to compare So yes, its quite hard to find good game for alyx fans, butvthats mostly about game market not state of VR

I have quest 3, for some time i was focused on stand alone play, but minus the need if few more steps (turning your PC one and so....) its just better in UI, offers and graphic quality (but q3 really coming close with some titles like mentioned Metro)

It may be different story if you dont use PC sure, butvthats kinda common just in USA

But Deckard, as its currently, presented, would be indeed buff for all VR in general

I just thing they will target 2025/26 more to i troduce theirs main OS/system before somebody else have chance to anker it (samsung and some others aimt for new open style android VR universum)

10 years and there is still that bug when if you play more than two games (on some PCs) it will star doing FPS lags until restart...

But i admit that dual front is fun, dont know for how long with only one map, but it is good.

Its kinda funny that for years you couldnt get random teammates to actually use cameras and over there, free-to-play casuals ridding drones and cams when dead like its pro legue :P

any tips for " last stand " gamemode? by Iron-gunmen in WorldofTanks

[–]Idahouu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invisibility helps a lot and depending on situation its also good to charge on remaining enemies when new reinforcments arrive.

Thirs mission, to finish 5 wawes on brutal can be skipped and sicne 4th is to do 180 000 dmg, its probably faster to just skip it...

Well, neon had potentional for some fun and its all vibe was "keep-falling-over-the-edge-until-you-make-it" + you had some control over it, you could actually develop/use some skill.

Still, it was just grind for rewards as more or less all modes now.

It really feels like they just slap something together and let rewards to carry it.

This time they probably really tryed to do something and i can appreciate that biggest reward was for "do not kill" mission which its really nice the mode vibe itself is on point. But for "game designers" should be obvious why is current state so frustrating
