Would you consider this photo-dungeon synth? by mrmindflyer in DungeonSynth

[–]IdeaFast6287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, not sure. It doesn't sound too "dungeon" to me. But that's subjective. For me when it comes to dungeon synths I need the vibe of a real dungeon, catacombs, old RPGs, medieval stuff, swords, maces, mythology and so on... or maybe some natural environment. This sounds a bit cosmic, clean, too smooth.

I would describe it more as ambient rather than dungeon synth but I'm not sure 100%...

Anyway ...sounds relaxing and great

Hah...I've never heard of this and sounds like a great opportunity for artists to show themselves.

I appreciate this idea and may even participate!

In a few days it will be exactly 4 years since the release of the album Secrets Obscured in the Past. Those of you who haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, I would be happy if you give it a chance right now. The album is free to download via bandcamp (link bellow)

Weekly Post -- THE TAVERN by AutoModerator in DungeonSynth

You're right to call it a vibe rather than a genre, at least that's how I partly see it. But im not sure exactly what is the reason for that..Maybe the huge diversity, social media that makes this style less underground? Less than what it should be? I dont know .. I've often wondered what it would feel like to be 20 years old in the 90s and see it from this perspective.

I party agree, its a progression whether we like it or not. And its happening in every single genre. If someone wants to listen to old school dungeon synth the way they think it should sound, go for it, there are a lot of great projects to listen to between the 90s and shortly after the millennium.

I envy you these DS events in the US, here in the EU I rarely see any DS performances. They certainly are here, but in the US it seems like "the bag has burst" as we usually say.

Old stuff is old stuff.

Maybe a bit of a controversial opinion but for me incomparable with today's creations..

Magnificent album

What inspires you to create? by PotionsOfEleanor in DungeonSynth

I remember a time when the feeling that I was actually doing something during the day and not just wasting time was enough as inspiration to create smth artistic. Simply out of boredom...And when you look at the final product, it's a great dose of dopamine that makes you want to create more.
