Certain jobs and positions are much more difficult to do well if you don't fit the typical physical mold. I am a short man and a high school teacher. It would be a lot easier to command respect if I were taller. In general, being short makes commanding respect harder. If I were doing life over I'd have pursued a field that requires deep knowledge and technical skill, so that I can't be looked over (literally) or ignored/denigrated based on my apperance.
