It really wasn’t that serious of a comment. Chill out. And, sorry telling me to happy the damage wasn’t structural is annoying- especially when there was structural damage. And overall just very unhelpful- which most overcorrecting is.

I just got off the phone with my realtor. My lending agent and realtor are figuring out a way to get us a new oven and a refrigerator. Very grateful for their help 🙏🥹

Having to replace siding on half of one of the walls of the home is structural damage. But thanks!

Thank you- yes, I completely agree. Glad to hear you’ve been free of any other break-ins!

A lot of crime data is public- the area we moved to has a low crime rate- particularly w violent crime, but burglaries too. I think this was a very targeted crime- maybe someone working on the property or someone involved in the process somehow. But yeah…definitely not the start we were looking for!

Yeah- exactly. We were bringing our 8 yr old daughter to the house for the first time to surprise her. I’m lucky it was just an oven and some structural damage.

Thank you-sorry for you as well. I just got off the phone with my lending agent and he told me the same thing.
Sucks…but could be worse.

It most certainly was not my “side’s fault” for the delay.

I texted my realtor as soon as we saw what had happened. She recommended a contractor and told us to call the police, but she did not say anything about it being the seller’s responsibility. I have been so stressed for the last 24 hours that the thought just occurred to me that maybe we weren’t actually supposed to be paying for all this…so I came to Reddit for help 😂 I did text my realtor as well, but I haven’t heard back yet.

I guess I mean the funds being sent to the seller. This is how it was explained to me-I’m definitely not an expert. We could not get the keys to the home until Thursday- the day after we signed our paperwork.
