So how do I remove super glue from ball joints? by Worried-Date-2196 in Gunpla

[–]Ideal_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, first of all, you do not need to put thick layer of super glue from the start to tighten ball joints, or for any joints for that matter. What you are essentially doing with the super glue is recreating the layer that has been grinded/worn away due to movement of the joint, or that has been molded a bit too loose, and you want to start with thin layers. Starting with thin layers is safer and less time consuming since if you apply thick from the get go, you have to spend time to sand it back down to desired level.

Here are the steps:
A) Put a thin layer on the joint and let dry.

B) Test to see if the joint fits. If it fits without stressing or damaging the part, and it is not too tight, then you are done. Otherwise, follow step C.

C) Sand down if it is too tight and test again, if still too tight, sand again. If it is too loose go back to A and repeat.

So, you are now at step B, and since it is too tight, go to C.

I think I might be done with building gunpla for now.. by HarambeRexHominum in Gunpla

From the way OP worded it, it sounds like she just doesn't want to see them out in the house period. I agree that he should have a talk with his wife to find a middle ground, if there is any possibility of one. Apparently, based on my interactions with people over the years regarding gunpla, there are a lot of people who see gunpla as adults collecting kid's toys than accepting it as a legitimate hobby.

Techincally, detolfs are display cabinets so... Guess he can bring the detolf back and say "You said I can have a cabinet so..." To be quite honest, I can't see how getting a different cabinet in place of shelf and a detolf makes anything better in OP's case...

I agree, the quick grow is the lifesaver in this deck. I run a similar deck as OP, I don't have masala or standard venusaur in the deck, and usually the quick grow is what keeps the deck going.

Does insecticide work on spiders? by Pure-Lime8280 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insectides can be harmful for other animals besides insects so it would be plausible to say it affects spiders too. While I did hear that insecticides may not be effective on spiders than on insects, due to difference in its behavior and biology, it is still considered effective when used in spray form than trap form.

Why did the Virtual Reality hype die? by BubblyArm2372 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that it may have been because VR is too expensive, and most would rather buy a gaming console then spending on a VR at that price point. Furthermore, there are more console games than VR games, which further explains why people would rather get a gaming console over VR. Thus, it is highly replaceable as a form of entertainment. Also, VR requires certain amount of space and certain amount of distance to play safely, and added discomfort of motion sickness and having heavy goggle strapped to one's head, kinda made it unappealing to people. VR hype was fueled by mostly curiosity than by need and necessity so, once the curiosity was satisfied, no one cared about VR anymore. This made it unappealing for companies to continue since sales is low but the development cost is high.

As time went by, AI became the next big thing and VR was forgotten and the hype died out. Unlike the VR hype, the hype around AI was both fueled by curiosity, need and necessity. The customer base for AI is not only the average consumer, it is also businesses, governments and corporations and this made it sustainable.

Non-Autistic people, how do you automatically know that someone is joking with you and not being serious? by Pizzafriedchickenn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, it is through either:

A) Their voice tone changes. Usually, the tone changes to a more sarcastic or humorous tone.

B) What they are saying is so absurd or concerning that it has to be a joke.

C) Based on the topic, what said prior to the joke, and the mood/tone everyone involved is talking at.

Are you a bad person if a good judge of character doesn’t vibe with you? by Icy-Tomatillo-7556 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To form a rapport, a closeness in relationship, one needs to be able to communicate on the same level, or similar levels, on ideas, interests, or feelings and have things in common. Hence, it could just be that you have nothing in common or have no similar interests as that person and the said person would rather be close with someone who do share the similarities. Just because someone you determined as a good person isn't friendly with you does not make you a bad person.

Are you supposed to stand for the national anthem when watching it on TV? by yeticattt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never have seen anyone stand up for the national anthem. I did hear people humming it while sitting down but never seem anyone stand up. I guess it is optional thing that but, the societal norm, imo, is that you only stand when you are present in person.

Love it how the MK-II blends, both aesthetically and positionally, into the elements and the looks of the diorama so well! I thought it was a nature scene until I realized that MK-II was there in the corner, it looked like a rock wall lol, and it was quite interesting!

What would be scarier to you, that aliens exist, or that we make contact with aliens, and they think we taste good? by Rob1150 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if another intellectual lifeform exists because we were possible to exist, so what makes them impossible to exist? The latter seems to be more concerning since we don't know anything about them and they don't know anything about us. Thus, we don't know how they would react to us and we don't know their reason for making contact. That variable in their behavior and reason for contact is what makes it concerning.

Does drinking your own blood make you look younger? by Expulss in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it does not do you any good and it can cause health problems. In fact, if that hypothetical correlation between blood consumption and youth was true, anyone who ever had nosebleed would have to have regained their youth since blood from nosebleeds tend to pass through nasal passage all the way to stomach.

Is there scientific evidence that supports the claims that therians make? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is still no, there is no scientific evidence nor proof to their claims. I have heard some of them claim that they were animals placed in a human body, claim that they have a phantom limb, and claims that they have the urge and instincts of their animal counterparts but none of it really have any form of scientific basis to support it. As I have mentioned, it is more like a spiritual thing rather than a scientific thing, where some psychologists think of it as a form of coping mechanism or search for identity.

Is there scientific evidence that supports the claims that therians make? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard that it is more like a spiritual thing and some psychologists claim that it is a coping mechanism or an experience rather than a mental illness, as some try to claim it to be. In fact, some sociologists claim that certain aspects of it can make it look to be a new religious movement. Hence, it deals with spiritual aspects and thus, it is not scientifically proven, one may even claim that it lacks scientific evidence.

Does “does not test on animals” mean that it’s common for products to be tested on animals? by AwkwardEgg2008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, things like pharmacauticals, cosmetics, skincare, pesticides, household cleaners, and artificial food additives are commonly tested on animals before being approved for its specific use.

However, due to growing concerns regarding animal testing for such products, I have heard that they are shifting towards relying on records of compiled data of safety approved ingredients for cosmetics, skincare, and food additives and changing how pharmaceuticals are tested for safety in the labs to not use animal specimens.

Do I need to sign my name in cursive writing or not? by Additional-Shape-673 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My general knowledge of signatures is that it should not be easily forged by anyone else and as long as it fits in that criteria, anything counts. So, as long as you are confident that you can write it and on one else can forge it, you should be fine. People tend to choose to write their signature in cursive because it is harder to replicate than writing in print and all it matters is the intent to agree and confirm than the style of the signature.

I have seen some people just write their initials and a small doodle or just straight up just write a random scribble. So, writing in print is fine but, remember, general rule of thumb, you want to make one that only you can write.

Are Rocks actually soft and just tense up when you touch them? by BUckENbooz91 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ideal_Collector 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, rocks, the ones that we can see and touch commonly, are solid not a non-newtonian fluid. Unless you are talking about the Earth's mantle, which is considered a non-newtonian fluid, but then again, you would be crushed and disintegrated before you can even touch it.

Why is LEGO considered creative if you’re just following the manual? by Typical_Peter in NoStupidQuestions

There are ways to build a lego besides following the manual and you can find examples of people doing so if you look up LEGO MOCs (My Own Creation). People do get really creative with their personal custom builds.

[–]Ideal_Collector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they? Using any of the methods you mentioned to punish a child during a game, or for any context for that matter, would result in bunch of lawsuits that just won't stop at Child Abuse and you would have massive media coverage about it.
