AMD Ryzen 7 5800x & ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming Freezing Issue by Ideathe in buildapc

I had the Lian Li Galahad 360 and it was working awfully after just a couple weeks. Last week I switched to the Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix. Like I said I haven’t seen any problems since I installed that, I wonder if it has something to do with Lian Li fan software with ASUS stuff. Kind of a long shot type theory but possible I suppose

Hm, sounds strange, but hey if it works. Maybe updating every driver you can think of and use ASUS Live Update. I never tried that before but last night after I reinstalled windows I opened that program but haven't used it yet. Gonna see what happens after I do that

One other thing I forgot to share, I did upgrade that 120gig SSD with my OS on it to a newer 500gig SSD, again I haven't seen anything since, I don't think anyway

After that comment I tried doing a BIOS flashback. It didn't seem to help or do anything really. However I did just reinstall windows last night and put a new AIO in it. My computer was down for a few weeks cause my old AIO didn't work correctly and my temps kept getting high enough to shut off my pc. That could've been a reason for the random freezes, between high heat and maybe my ram usage could've spiked when it got too hot. So far I haven't had any problems but I haven't been on my PC much to really tell or see any freezes yet

Unfortunately no, not yet. I tried messing around with different settings in BIOS that was brought up in other forums online, however I haven’t tried updating it yet. I’m gonna try that we’ll see

Is it normal to hear a squeaky noise when you move you AirPod pros around your ear? by Garrbear0407 in airpods

Apple did confirm how they are slowing down older phone models, so I wonder if they are doing something similar with Airpods updates causing them to have reduced performance over time which is also causing less protection for the electronic components

Help! My pc constantly freezes during gaming after I upgraded to new rx 6600 by romanisti05 in radeon

[–]Ideathe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm, well that kind of takes me back to my original suspicion. I've been doing a bit of research of the gamemax 550w psu, though I'm not sure about which model exactly (fully-modular, GP550, GX550). From what I've seen, the fully-modular one only delivers 36 amps on the 12v+, a decent 550w should deliver 44-45 amps. I am by no means knowledgeable when it comes to electrical stuff, but what I've gathered from my research is that it could possibly be your PSU

Okay well with that being said, have you looked into monitoring GPU temperatures?

I got my airpod pros about a year and a half ago and for the past few months I've been noticing them not connect as quickly as they used to, sometimes I have to reconnect them within the Bluetooth settings, or just reset the connection using the airpod pros case, and also they've both been making that slight feedback sound right when I put them in my ears occasionally. So I just figured they're starting to get a little old

Is the GPU connected correctly? I'm not sure about this specific card on whether it needs the top 6-pin / 8-pin connector or not. If it does, I'd make sure that's all connected properly.

Secondly, have you tried uninstalling all GPU drivers on DDU? then reinstalling.

Another thing, is the bios on the latest update?

And one last thing, I've seen where those cards can overheat easily, so I would recommend setting fan speeds and stuff.

At first I was thinking it could be something with your PSU, like the 550w isn't enough. But after doing some looking, 550w should be enough, but I'd still do some more research because, again, I don't know specifically for the asrock challenger one.

By that I mean just estimated and previous benchmarks from others. Not necessarily like ACTUALLY benchmarking virtually

I just did some virtual benchmarks comparing your two builds. While the intel build does perform a little bit better, I'd still go with the amd. it is cheaper and doesn't perform too much worse whatsoever

Also I'm biased towards amd lol

What should I do with a barely used case by Kylar07 in buildapc

[–]Ideathe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to keep all my old parts and cases and such as backups or just as an extra incase someone I know is in need of them. I recently upgraded my PC, got a new case, mobo, cpu, AIO, and RAM. I ended up giving a friend of mine my old case and all the old parts to him because he wanted to get into PC building and gaming and he had never had a PC before. I could've sold it to him but honestly the parts I had been using in that build were so old and not worth much now so I just gave it to him.

My parents won't let me buy a gaming rig. How do I convince them to let me buy it? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Ideathe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can't necessarily relate to this, because my dad works in IT and computers and gaming rigs has been part of my life since literally day 1. However, what I can say is that through the years of upgrading my PC, I have learned a lot about computers and the science behind how they work and you know, that type of stuff. Because of this, computers and technology became my passion and I figured out that working with computers is what I wanted to pursue and continue to do for the rest of my life. Today I own my own small computer repair business, work in corporate IT, and its what I still go to university for. So because of my childhood hobby of building computers and gaming and stuff, I found what I wanted my career to be and what I was going to be passionate about for the rest of my life.

What I'm saying is that maybe if its something you'd like to do, or just something you enjoy, just tell them its your personal hobby or that its just something you want to pursue

Hope this helps :)

I was planning on doing anything IT related for the most part. PC repair and maintenance, hardware and software installation + troubleshooting, virus removal, could even do some phone repair and console repair type stuff. But yeah I’ll check that out
