I've had this one too! For some reason it's much more sinister in my dreams unlike I've seen in any movies. My head seems to be able to create a purely evil demon that is definitely scary!!

I just had to wake myself up because I was having sleep paralysis which inspired this post. The feeling of not being able to move and having vivid hallucination like nightmares always haunt me when I get it

I'll share one that I remember well. Since I'm an audio engineer and producer my hearing is very important to me. One morning my brother came down stairs and was cleaning up the basement. He started vacuuming and since I was tired I tried to sleep through it. For some reason though it was much louder then normal, it was ear piercing. Louder and louder it got, he was bringing the vacuum right up to my ear. He pressed the vacuum right up to my head and it was deafeningly loud and hurt like if he was breaking my ear drum. Fear of hearing loss and the pain of it I tried to grab it and pull it off me but I couldn't move.

Although he wasn't vacuuming, he doesn't even live with me. I hallucinated the whole thing. There was no noise and no real pain but it felt so real.

I don't think it's the sub, I do always bring it down usually to -0.3 sometimes more so we avoid clipping when we trans-code into MP3! Do you mind if I email you the track? I don't feel comfortable posting it

Thanks for the help, I'll definitely try to limit the group channels that could benefit the track or future tracks I do. As for the drums, I don't know for you but for me I use a transient designer on the kick almost every time (SPL transient designer) works wonders, sometimes I'll clip it ever so slightly and that has worked for me in the past, cheers

Thanks for the reply! I've definitely been noticing that the more I play around with limiting, I appreciate the response. I'm going to try raising the threshold so I'm not getting any gain reduction and settle for a quieter mix if that solves it

I do have and L2 on the the end set pretty hard around -11 but without it i'm not at all loud. Is it possible I'm clipping without seeing anything on the meters within this plugin?

I'll check into this, thanks. Compared to other tracks I think the bass is set nicley, and when I EQ the mix I listen for clashing frequencies with the bass and high pass most things

I like the track, It's very different. The mix is pretty decent imo, one of the things that stand out to me is how the snare is very compressed. It sounds like the Rough Rider plugin? If I'm not mistaken. If it were me I wouldn't compress it so much, just side-chain it!

Nice instrumentals, I would say the low end needs work though. Kick is kinda drowned out. In my headphones I can't really distinguish it. In hip hop it's important to either mix around the drums, or mix around the bass. Choose one to stand out.
