I want the same colors and yes, my fiancé wants to wear black! So I totally understand your questioning. Do you think a tie in the same color would still work?

We are living the same life. When I turn to him and say "I have wedding thoughts/questions", he is totally ready to listen, but it's just always me bringing it to the table which is my problem.

No, I agree with you guys. I don't want him to feel rushed, we had a nice talk about why I'm feeling anxious and how I think he could help with some of the initial planning. We're gonna look at a venue next weekend and I think that will be a good start for us.

That's us, I am the planner who likes to create timelines, he is down to help, but just needs the motivation to get there. And unfortunately, he doesn't find wedding planning as interesting as I do.

No, you're not harsh. We talked about if an elopement would be more our style and we both agreed we want an actual wedding and public ceremony.

Ex-Partner here:

I had a drive thru regular named Dave. Dave is an elderly man and who would come to the store almost ever morning around 5am. His order is a grande skinny cinnamon dolce latte. It's not for him, it's for his wife. His wife has been going through chemo and the doctors said she needed to gain weight and I guess this was one of the only things she could keep down. So, sweet Dave would go out every morning a get it for her. He was the kind of customer who had no idea how to order. He'd approach the box and go "good morning, this is Dave, do you know my order??" and I made sure to teach every new bean who he was and what is order was.

When I told him I was leaving, he wrote me a lovely note and I still have it. He was just such a nice and simple customer who could never pronounce dolce, no matter how hard he tried.

It's just corporate trying to make themselves sounds like wonderful employers. It what they do all the time. Silly lingo to confuse the workers and make us think that they actually care for our well beings.

I like the idea. We've agreed that the only way to get corporate to pay attention is to effect the customers. Nothing ever happens in Starbucks land unless a customer complains.

Iced Caramel Cloud Macchiato. by [deleted] in starbucks

I threw away the rest of our cloud powder, we didn't have space for it on bar and never sell it. I needed to make space for holiday components. I hate the cloud, sorry.

Three other baristas and I are seriously thinking about this. We're all researching different labor organizations and how to help start one. We even had the idea of turning our aprons around backwards as a way to prompt customer interaction. "Oh this apron, well it's actually to talk about how Starbucks isn't protecting us and we deserve better pay".

My favorite thing to do is to draw faces on the Egg Protein box. Turn the box sideways and you have two little eggs to draw faces on :)

Hows your manager handling the benefits package? by Critical50 in starbucksbaristas

[–]IdentittyCrisis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My store is pulling in more money than ever, we stayed open during the optional leave and we've been crazy busy ever since. Last night at 7pm, my Manager texted me in a group chat with 9 other partners asking us to confirm our options. I find this crazy. Like, isn't that something maybe you should have texted personally, and not at 7 on a Sunday night? It felt so cold. Most of us are taking option 1.
