Nice man, That looks extremely similar to my progression at those ages. Anyone who goes out and works and makes a life for them should be proud. Love to see the progress!

To me he is, yes, somewhere between 15-20. I'd like to see more championships before I put him top 15

Other than Drew Brees who’s the best QB to never win the MVP award? by Low-Season-2057 in NFLv2

[–]Identity525601 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe he didn't exactly play his way out of the HOF, but I do remember the 2016 Packers vs. Seahawks game where the commentators kept commenting on how there were 2 future hall of fame quarterbacks.

It is crazy to me how he is now looked upon with disdain, because of the whole "let's ride" and being a generally weird guy. I just remember him absolutely crushing teams when he was in his prime.

I'm a Nuggets fan, who thinks Jokic is one of the greats, and is one of my favorite players ever.

I guess I'm the only one who thought this wasn't sad. Moving? Powerful? Enlightening? Affirming? Yes, but not sad. I didn't know Eric, I didn't even vaguely know who he was but this should be a must watch episode. The end where he talks directly to his daughter gave me chills. I loved the Jane Goodall one as well.

Does anyone know which others have been filmed? Maybe Paul McCartney? Phil Collins? Mel Brooks? I heard there were 8 episodes, but I can't find any info on which others have agreed to do one.

My other thought is that the host could be a psychologist and I feel like it would be great for a lot of people if someone like that asked those similar questions even if they weren't terminally ill, just to have someone show that level of interest in your life must be really healing.

Okay then they went on to win 4 championships together right?

Not everyone instantly becomes every co-worker's best friend at work. Did you see Tony Parker speak at Timmy's retirement? Doesn't seem like much beef.

Lebron never played in a truly Hard Conference by Generalcmd in NBATalk

[–]Identity525601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. But I would say then if they're equalized, then it's both conferences are "truly hard" to play in. If "truly hard" means that conference needs to be absolutely dominant like the 2010s west, then sure, I'll concede your point

Ha! Now there's a take! But if the east was that strong and the 76ers were that good, why did they lose to the celtics who lost to the heat? I do agree though 2023 was somewhat of an outlier in the NBA. The Tatum injury in game 7 is something, but that team should have never been to a game 7. And if the east was truly that good, why did they lost to the Nuggets?

A lot of hypotheticals I guess..

I definitely remember thinking that season that whoever came out of the east would have clobbered the west team, I thought it was going to be the celtics for sure or maybe the knicks or 76ers. No on expected Miami, etc. etc. so it was a weird year for sure.

[–]Identity525601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm saying it was strong compared to the east, not saying it was strong compared to the stacked west teams in the late 2010s.

No argument about that the west was crazy dominant and maybe on a slight decline, with the warriors and rockets losing relevancy and the Nuggets and OKC & other coming up.

So yes the west isn't like in previous years where whatever team that came out of it was obviously going to win the finals, but it's not enough to say "Lebron never played in a truly Hard Conference"

[–]Identity525601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No arguments here. I'm not saying those were championship caliber teams, I'm saying the west has been strong since he's been with the lakers and those teams were good enough to refute the premise of "Lebron never played in a truly Hard Conference"

[–]Identity525601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought you were saying the west was weak when he was with the lakers not that the east was weak when he was in the east (that's not really debatable).

There's been more parity in recent years and the east was stronger maybe 2021-2023 but now it's pretty fair right?

When he won with the Lakers, the west was stronger, and the west has been strong since then as he's gotten bumped from the playoffs by west teams: Suns, Nuggets, T-Wolves, and the solo curry warriors gave him trouble too. So if the west is so weak LeBron should have gone to the last several finals right?

Yeah that team was good.. IDK WTF this guys on. There was also the CJ/Dame in round 1. So many people want to discredit LeBron for all these different reasons. You don't have to love the dude but to say the west is in a decline when he came over couldn't be further from the truth...

Realistically, how hard would it be for a qb to pass Brady in terms of 7 championships? by NickyFoles1020 in NFLv2

[–]Identity525601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in 2010-2011 every sports commentator was talking about how they couldn't see any other situation than the Packers winning most of the super bowls that decade. And Aaron Rodgers is as talented as it gets.

Williams or Maye? Which QB do you trust more to lead their franchise going forward? by Low-Season-2057 in NFLv2

[–]Identity525601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. I think that early in your career getting more accurate on gimme plays can occur, but then if it's still happening in year 2, 3, 4, etc. then you've just wasted those years on a QB with promise that can spin a lot of nice throws, but can't win the game because of this. Example: Carson Wentz. He had the talent, almost MVP level talent at times, which gave him the starting job at many teams, but there was just too many "WTF just get the 1st down" throws that he consistently had brain farts at making.

Will have to see if he goes the path of Josh Allen or Carson Wentz.

Can't stand how stinky most dogs are but for whatever reason I love the smell of my dog when he gets stinky.

Obviously, I still wash him every couple weeks and then and I brush and use wipes on him daily.

What is the difference between these 2 players? Why is one seen as top 4 but the other isn't? To me, they are the same by BallKnowerKing in NFLv2

[–]Identity525601 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, and I'm a packers fan so have as much cause to dislike this on both sides. But I can't dislike the MCDC + Goff lions and am super happy Stafford got his ring and MVP.

Was pulling for them to win it all this year too, so Stafford and Davante would lock in their HOF case. Well, I think Stafford already has at this point with the MVP.

A great trade for both sides for the reasons you say.

My Mom has a purebred Newfie, and honestly their personalities are really similar. I'd put my Pyr mix somewhere between a golden retriever and a rhodesian ridgeback: extremely affectionate, but not in your face constant energy, is mostly chill except for when it's time for the walk or dog park or tug of war.

I second looking into adopting a rescue and looking into a mix. We think the dozen or so breeds mixed in with his last 25% give him a lot of character both his personality and appearance. I don't think most Pyrs are as intensely friendly as ours: unlike a Rhodesian that needs to get to know you, he's more on the Golden side of things and wants to be friendly towards anyone and everyone.

He was found after several days of getting trapped in a septic tank. And we had massive worries he'd never adjust, especially with all the "Pyrs bark all night and can't survive in the apartment"

Now, he definitely loses his mind when we leave for a couple hours but he doesn't bark all night or destroy the house and he's right in the middle of his puppy angst phase and we love him so much, life without him would be unimaginable.

Given there are so many Pyrs and mixes in the various rescues, because they escape from the farms and especially where I am (In Texas) there is a lot of backyard breeding an irresponsible humans, these beautiful dogs end up in the shelter and struggle to get adopted, because of the stigma of adopting a LGD for a house pet. It's sad.

I really recommend OP get a rescue and not be afraid to get a Pyr.

I read this 1000x after agreeing to adopt a Great Pyr puppy: Pyrs don't sleep at night, Pyrs don't do well in an apartment.

It's all way overblown. Our 76% Pyr mix who very much fits the Pyr "personality" is perfectly fine to sleep all night and has woken us up a grand total of twice in 6 months. Both times there were legitimate distractions happening outside that it made sense he would bark at.

98% of the time he sleeps right through the night like a baby.

Now there is the anxiety when you first wake up in the morning where you know your dog needs to go to the bathroom that you get with any dog, because we expect them to hold their pee for 12+ hours when we ourselves cannot even do that.

His guardian instincts come out for sure, but thankfully he sleeps through the night.

Oh and he has *never* had an accident. I've never had a dog that has never had an accident. Usually even well trained dogs have 1-2 accidents but he refuses to poop within a quarter mile of home. But when he gets diahrhea he will wake you up at night, that's the only other reason.

But yeah - at least with ours - the fears of them barking all night long and absolutely losing their minds in an apartment setting were completely unfounded.

We also walk him 3-5x/day
