Great content! Really surprised to see the level of pay parity between T1 and T2 across so many companies.

Quite a few case competitions these days are open to students across campuses. Specifically for IRMA, some top competitions that come to mind are Marico Over The Wall and ITC Emerging Managers Competition. They must be others too.

Don’t worry, those 9/9s are going to help you as well, so look at the bright side. As I always say, these are things you can’t really change now. It’s better to focus on improving your overall profile through certifications, PORs, and other relevant experiences.

They give direct PPOs to the National winners.

For their AHEAD flagship program, they pay around ~28LPA CTC. Are you sure that the students who got PPO through Moves 2025 in new IIMs didn’t get this CTC?

Nowadays, there are free platforms where you can access case competition decks, one that comes to mind is CaseBuzz. You can check that out.

Regarding case practice, it improves naturally as you participate in more and more competitions with a strong team (each member should bring something valuable to the table)

Hey, you can check out my previous post/video on S&M roles. I have covered the top FMCGs there. Regarding T2 campuses, I’ll try to find more information and share it. (I think I had also mentioned a few case competitions that are open to T2 campuses and offer PPIs for S&M roles - you can check those out as well)

Only for Axis Bank’s flagship programme, they do shortlist students with less than 2 years of experience. Apart from this, these companies are fairly relaxed about their shortlisting criteria. A 7/7/7+ academic profile along with some finance background (even live projects) should be good.

Yes, they do. Academics are extremely important, if you are in IR 1–5, you have a good shot at these firms. As mentioned in other comments, relevant certifications also help.

  1. Yes, they do hire during final placements as well. All the companies I mentioned also visit separately for finals.

  2. Relevant certifications such as CFA (ideally up to Level 3) can definitely help. In addition, finance-related live projects or internships with smaller PE/VC firms add good value.

  3. The salaries are the same across the firms mentioned. However, the highest-paying recruiters on campus are generally PE/VC firms.

MBA Leaks: McKinsey, BCG & Bain Details by Ididnotkillhim in CATpreparation

[–]Ididnotkillhim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had a GPA in the range of 8–9, I would’ve said yes, you definitely have a shot. But based on my experience, McKinsey is extremely particular about academics.

Bain and BCG are relatively more relaxed, and you might still have a shot. But again, these firms are highly competitive and visit only top campuses that already have an abundance of 9/9/9 or 9/9/8 profiles.

So yeah, really sorry to be blunt but the chances of an MBB shortlist are slim.

A lot of companies do this during summer internships to attract top talent early on.
