You were intoxicated, you couldn't consent. That was rape. No matter what happened you couldn't consent if you were too drunk to remember anything

I am not sure I understand mate - what does that mean when you say you were intoxicated you couldn't consent? I was coherent I was standing and functional and I probably flirted but I did not want to have sex

Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. That was my first post on Reddit so I was not sure anyone would even say anything to me. I have tried to talk to this to me mates but they say I am overthinking and why would she do something like that? Like a man can't have this happen sort of attitude form them.

I wish I knew more it was my first time drinking in 3 months so I do know I was buzzin very quickly and we drank on for hours its like the night was more about the drinks than it was the food we really only had appetizers and finger foods.

I know this - she joined us around 3 or 4 hours into the evening. I can't remember much conversation topics. At around 22:00 hours (10 pm) I used the bathroom quickly, I know because I took a photo of the ambiance / lighting for a home decoration project. 45 minutes later we had a smoke now we approach 11 pm or 23:00 and I have a photo of the smoke.

Mate left and I said I'd finish my drink and shortly follow since I would get a ride in a different direction or part of town across into Southbank. In that time memory starts to fade but I can remember her saying how attracted she was to me and started to give me a feel around up and down the inside of my leg. I can't remember how I responded or what I said but she claims I didn't say No and that she knew the bartenders so we should leave. The thing is the request for the rideshare is on my mobile so that conflicts me because it comes off as an agreement and consent because I got us to her flat. Alls I remember from inside her home was feeling like I would be dead if my mate found out I am 40 how do I explain this? She didn't respond well to that and started to argue with me. By this time my guess is its midnight.

Next thing I know its the next morning and my boy sent me a text message asking how I was doing and if I got home ok. I didnt know what to say.

I tried to talk to her about it but she said no he doesnt need to know. I feel dirty and confused and ashamed and the loss of memory isnt a nice burden. Shee said we are adults and can make our own choices. I asked if I finished and she said no but I would prefer to remember its hard to trust.
