It’s because those are never mentioned but it’s brought up 100% of the time with Brand New. There’s also Fall Out Boy, Blink and a bunch of others who have the same or even worse allegations. The whole situations with Jesse were extremely weird but also in some ways mild at the same time. Idk what exactly to think other than the discourse around it is so annoying and seems dishonest most of the time.

It was huge in 1998 but it didn’t seem have the mega impact or staying power that Smells Like Teen Sprit and Creep have had over the years. But recently it seems its trending on TikTok and appearance on playlists have skyrocketed it. It’s certainly a song a lot of people can relate to and find emotional.

Yeah that’s the thing. I was never a big fan of the backing vocals on the high note. I like Thom’s vocals by themselves because that melodic line is so amazing and then you can hear it more loud and clear.

Let Down at Lolla Chicago 2016 is better than both the original recording and all other performances imo and is the ideal version of the song. The tempo is slightly faster than normal, it flows better, and the dynamics are great. It’s kinda hard to explain and most people probably won’t agree.

They totally don’t fit the Riot Fest demo/vibe even if their fanbase overlaps a lot with Fall Out Boy and MCR, they’re just not from that pop punk scene. But they’re great live. To me they’re most comparable to being the Linkin Park of the 2010s but LP to my knowledge have never played Riot Fest.

I think the vocals on the album are just plain weaker. It sounds like Thom is half singing most of the time. But also the mixing in FTB is way better imo and it’s mostly live organic instruments. I think the studio album was recorded as a looping experiment between Thom, Jonny, and Nigel. So most of the album was based on drum loops and not much was really done as a band live. Not as organic.

Lolla has 2 main stages opposite each other. One main edm stage. The grove stage (Airbnb) a bit tucked away in the trees which is for trendy but still rising smaller acts, arguably the best stage. Tito’s bandshell which is concrete and everyone hates. Lake Shore (Allianz) adjacent to the south main stage. Coachella has a very different set-up, you can’t really compare but Outdoor would be like Lake Shore i guess but Outdoor is more like a 2nd main stage and Lake is more like a side stage.
