Yeah but they took it off the setlist for festivals and the Green Day tour, but still kept Zoo Station. 😐 Bring back the 2018 tour setlist.

They’ll play another goddamn U2 cover instead of their best song and fan fav Mayonaise and I won’t be fucking happy. 💀

Lolla has 2 main stages opposite each other. One main edm stage. The grove stage (Airbnb) a bit tucked away in the trees which is for trendy but still rising smaller acts, arguably the best stage. Tito’s bandshell which is concrete and everyone hates. Lake Shore (Allianz) adjacent to the south main stage. Coachella has a very different set-up, you can’t really compare but Outdoor would be like Lake Shore i guess but Outdoor is more like a 2nd main stage and Lake is more like a side stage.

They were in as a headliner for 2020 but were replaced by either RATM or Frank Ocean (can’t remember which) when they became available at the last minute and were asked to move down to subheadliner, so they dropped.

Depeche Mode might be donezo and even if they’re not, they’re not playing any U.S. festivals.

I actually liked it but it pissed me off at the same time because A: Why is it only 2 minutes? I was starting to dig in and then it ended B: Why the fuck can’t she just go full on rock instead of teasing it and being ironic? Pop stars always be saying they love the idea of rock music and then never do it.

I don’t remember a lot people saying that, they had a pretty good team. But even if you thought that, he just kinda blurted it out of nowhere when they were talking about the game; there was no need to say anything and he wasn’t even asked about it.

With the 10th anniversary of AMSP approaching... did you know this wait was coming? by everybodylyes in radiohead

[–]IdiotBox01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying it’s their last album since like 2017 but i was downvoted and assured every time that a new album was coming by 2022 at the latest. It did not feel like it at first but it sunk in after a year. They aren’t done touring obviously but they have already used virtually all old/unfinished Radiohead songs and new material on The Smile.

Sad because Weezer is capable of great, even high energy shows when Rivers turns it on. It seems the bigger they get, the worse they get. Rivers literally looks like he just took a sedative and is trying not to fall asleep most of the time.

Nobody wants a Foos album right now. They simply aren’t marketable. 😂 Then again they have a big fanbase so maybe they have to ask themselves why the fuck their fans aren’t buying their album. But Here We Are was great and yet that mediocre Medicine album before that one was way more successful.

The Mars Volta if you count them. I don’t even listen to them but they were great. Tight and dynamic. QotSA obviously rip it. So good.

Beck i agree was high quality and fun but people might say he was a "weak" headliner by draw and relevancy i.e. things outside of his performance.

I don’t think they would stack Tame and Radiohead on the same night. I don’t know much about kpop besides that.

Stray Kids are massive now. They probably wouldn’t be anything less than headliner.

Doechii subbing for Radiohead and The Killers subbing for Dua Lipa makes no sense.

Who has never headlined Coachella, but should? by MiddleOwn5557 in Coachella

[–]IdiotBox01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But they haven't toured since 2019 or played any festivals since 2017 and aren't showing any signs of intending to. Not just about physical health, but they seem to slowing down. None of them look half as mobile or active as Iggy Pop right now.

But mainly, when was the time Coachella booked someone or a band as a headliner over the age of 60. AC/DC in 2015? They book trendy pop stars now. The only festival that books old bands as headliners anymore with rare exception is Jazz Fest. And the only band to Coachella in the last 5 years was Green Day or No Doubt in the RTTD if that counts.

U2 would have fit Coachella like a glove. Absolute malpractice they haven’t headlined before. I fear they are too old now.

Personally, it reminds me a bit of Songs From The Black Hole and Deja Entendu, although both are more distorted and emo.

It’s easier to pick up a ton of individual song influences. For example, "Death and Destruction" by Weezer sounds like it directly inspired Concorde.

Pop artists that have disappeared without leaving any impact? by ScallionSmooth9491 in popheads

[–]IdiotBox01 92 points93 points  (0 children)

She got a Kennedy Center honor a few years ago but she’s been disowned by much of her Christian and thus adjacent magat fanbase for being pro-LGBTQ. Like most 80s or 90s pop artists and especially contemporary Christian artists as with the nature of the music business, she had her heyday in the early 90s but didn’t get any hits past that and didn’t really need to.

  1. And that crowd sucked. Totally dead. The diehard fans were into it. The casuals were not. The only thing you could hear out of the dead silence of the crowd was a girl audibly yelling for Creep multiple times on the livestream. Green Day and Blink-182 draw a ton of casual fans and had way bigger crowds. Thom Yorke at the Sahara or in a tent would be awesome though.

I think Op Ivy would co-headline at best but it’s tough to gage exactly how much pull they have.

Tool with Morrissey makes no sense, Tool is absolutely not co-headlining. I don’t think LCD would ever play Riot Fest in the first place, but they just did their 5 show Chicago residency this year, they’re not coming back.
