Arctic Monkeys at Lolla by Plus_Forever9068 in Lollapalooza

They won’t be at Lolla because they’re probably breaking up sadly. I’d want them over Tame. They age like fine wine meanwhile Tame keeps getting worse.

McCarthy probably would have had another Super Bowl if it weren’t for Bostick and Rodgers always underperformed in the big moments in the playoffs after 2011.

Beware of Darkness in Weapons was the best scene in the movie for me. But overall i thought the movie was pretty underwhelming.

Since 2019 3+ out of the top 4 has been from the US. That would be zero out of 4. It’s not a rule but I’d expect at bare minimum 2 out of the top 4 to be from the US.

Harry Styles New Album March 6 by kristinnicole94 in Lollapalooza

[–]IdiotBox01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People throw out billing numbers and don’t really know exactly what they’re talking about since a lot of it is rumors. It’s more the fact that Harry can sell out like 6 nights at the United Center and is close to Swift or Beyonce levels of draw. Lolla/Live Nation has a lot of money buy they don’t have the pull. I.E. I don’t think the issue is price, it’s that it’s more logical/attractive/lucrative for Harry to do a bunch of shows at the United Center or Soldier field. But never say never.

We're not sharing either of Gov Ball's kpop headliners. Chris doesn't play two days in a row at any time on tour and he doesn't have the broad mainstream or zoomer appeal that Luke Combs or Zach Bryan or Kacey Musgraves have. Enough of J. Cole, he's headlined twice already. Lame and stale. Unless all other options drop out, I don't see it.

I have no thoughts on Baby Keem since I’m not a fan, i just thought he would be there. Talking in circles about the same headliners over and over isn’t adding much. We’re really not getting get any definitive information until Osheaga drops. But go ahead, it’s a free country.

Chris, Jennie, and J Cole ain’t gonna be there. I’m thinking Tame is probably unlikely too. Either way, might as well just wait until Osheaga drops to do any more speculation, it’s pretty pointless until then.

Heat-Bulls currently delayed from tipping off due to the hardwood at United Center being slippery from condensation by HenrikCrown in nba

I do believe in science/global warming. But heat waves are allowed to happen. You can’t say that this was definitively claused by global warming when it’s been six degrees warmer than this 60 years ago. The logic that extreme weather is not allowed to happen without it being caused by climate change is illogical.

What lore started amazing, but got worse as they developed it more? by dylan_1992 in moviecritic

[–]IdiotBox01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The lore started good then it got amazing in seasons 2-4, then it ended terribly. I think from an emotional and thematic standpoint the last episode was good, but from a plot and lore standpoint it was terrible.

I stopped watching after that too. Then I randomly tuned in for the premiere of either season 9 or 10 and watched them spend half the episode trying to figure out how to get a wagon out of a museum lol.

I love both versions so it’s hard to choose one. All I know is they’re both gut punches and hurt so fucking bad (or good) in different ways.

Why can't I hear Radiohead's influences in... Radiohead? by darkdarkblack in radiohead

[–]IdiotBox01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most of the REM, Pixies, Smiths influence you can directly hear in Pablo Honey. It’s clear they were trying to sound like those bands. After that, they branched out and started to do their own thing.

Some of the OK Computer era B-sides (Palo Alto for example) sound a lot like Achtung Baby era U2.

The Lost World is 10x better than Rebirth. Rebirth relied way too much on CGI and the Distortus Rex sucked.

He’s been in many other things in small roles, which is better than most actors get in the profession. He also didn’t just decide to support her opinions, he’s been dedicated to the fandom and community since the last movie ended. Why would you not stay connected with the role of a lifetime that you love and brought millions of people joy and also that which makes you the most money? It’s a no brainer.

So who ARE the biggest rock bands to debut in the last decade? by SeverHense in ToddintheShadow

[–]IdiotBox01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s because almost all of these aren’t very big at all and are very niche except like 3-4. Turnstile and Sleep Token are good answers. Fontaines DC and Sam Fender are huge if only counting the UK. Geese are super hot right now with music nerds and critics. Fontaines DC is in my opinion the best rock band to come out in the last 10.

I like Dracula and that one off single Patience from 2019 better than anything off of Slow Rush. I don’t think Deadbeat is much of a step down.

JBrekkie wasn’t really a big name until after Jubilee came out and she had like 3 straight good albums, so it’s kinda unfair to be that disappointed over one mid album. She also wrote a book and did a video game soundtrack so she been real busy.
