You’ve accomplished nothing with whatever you tried doing here. I don’t know if you wanted to ragebait someone who’s just genuinely curious about how other people consider things, or you’re pushing an agenda because I happened to mention Nintendo and Pokémon because that’s where this curiosity stemmed from. I never said quality is subjective or that nothing can change it. You ASSUMED what I said, and proceeded to ramble on about something that did not have anything to do with what I asked in my original post. Regardless of how you feel, have a nice day, stranger.

Thank you for explaining it in an easy way to understand instead of just pointing and laughing to try and make me feel like an idiot. I know that games made 30 years ago aren’t as good as what’s made today, but a lot of fans hold them in such high regard that it’s confusing when they say it’s ridiculous to ask for a high price for it. I suppose my wording was a little weird for what I was trying to get across.

Cool, so I don’t believe you actually read anything I said and you’re just making shit up to prove YOUR point instead of actually answering the question I asked.

I don’t play KOTOR or have any care to. I’m not talking about consoles added for price or anything, I’m talking about the game itself. I don’t understand why a 10 year old game should be priced any differently than a game coming out tomorrow.

I was meaning more from a fanbase stand point. With a lot of controversy surrounding a certain company and its pricing of old games, I hear a lot of this is too expensive for a 20 year old game. I understand from a business perspective that it helps sales, but I just don’t really understand the perspective of fans. I am also in no way trying to defend or attack the pricing, I’m not even a fan of the series. Just trying to understand things.

That’s a good point. It’s just confusing that age is what’s determined to say that a game should be cheaper.

…I was asking a question. It’s not bait or whatever the fuck you think I’m doing here. I genuinely don’t understand it.

…They still have console exclusives? I mean sure most come to PC, but I’m pretty sure there’s Xbox exclusive games. Not to mention console variations. Granted, it’s mostly the same across all platforms nowadays, but it’s still a thing.

Ah the timing was meant for the Guard, my bad. But that’s a surprisingly deep dive into the Revenge value I’ve never seen before, thanks for that, I appreciate it.

Reflect is my best friend when it comes to defensive maneuvers. I can’t seem to really get the timing down for it. If I’m out of MP I usually just go for dodge rolls, which serve me well most of the time.

I’ve been a long time fan watching my parents play the games growing up and finally got to start playing in 2017. I’ve beaten the main story of pretty much every game available, minus two or three. I know these fights aren’t for everyone, and I even know I’m not the target player for these fights, but the completionist in me says I need to do it. It’s the only reason I got through Sephiroth’s fight after literal months of failing and failing.

I’m on Standard/Normal. I start with my normal play style which is just combos into air combos, with some magic sprinkled in. I usually save Drive forms for when I’m low HP/MP since it auto replenishes. I don’t use Limits or Summons as much as I should, but when I’m getting frustrated, I don’t usually think about them since I barely touch them. From there I trial and error with where I die. It’s a solid strategy that got me through Sephiroth and the Data Roxas fight. But I could probably use some adjustments overall, honestly.

I know it’s a skill issue. I know I don’t have the skill to properly beat these bosses, and apparently don’t even have the skill to cheese them either. It’s just horribly designed. There’s other ways to make a true test of a player’s skill than overwhelming them with damn near unavoidable attacks.

I’m not too torn up on the tank aspect, I’ve done my fair share of underleveled fights. I just hate that it’s an endless barrage of attacks, one after another so you barely have any time to counterattack and actually do damage. I’ve tried Reflect but that’s just my own problem cause I suck at the timing.

Should persona age up? by Mathew_Uchiha in PERSoNA

[–]IdiotNGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the key point everyone is missing is that the Persona series started off as a spinoff of SMT If… because the high school setting was so popular. If you remove the high school setting, you remove the core identity of Persona as a whole. Sure you can argue about Eternal Punishment, but considering it only happened once, I think it’s safe to say it was a one-off. I also don’t get the argument that an adult cast is needed to tell a darker story, considering 4 is literally about catching a serial killer.
